It's not the system. It's just Miller making a bad decision.
All of our D do it. It's definitely deliberate. Could be an overcompensation as the forwards can't establish the forecheck on their own

More than anything right now, I just want to know where the "competitor" streak that was talked up so much pre-draft has gone.
The guy is just passive
Yes, all we heard about was the compete level. And that if all else is underwhelming at least the kid will compete. I saw some of it in the playoffs when al the kids were good. But I am definitely questioning the compete level when it seems like he doesn't care at all.

Imagine if Laf or Kappo were 10% the player Hughes is. They are both absolutely embarrassingly bad and games like this remind us all of just how brutal those picks are turning out to be.
Kakko is the type of player who takes longer to develop. Guys whos games are based purely on speed/skill translate quickly.

Kakko needs to grow into his game style at this level. Sure its frustrating he's not as good as Hughes, and he likely will never score quick stickhandling or dangle goals that show up all over highlight reels like Hughes, but he is progressing alright.

Every defensemen in every system pinches. The difference is knowing when to do it and when not to. That's on the player.

It boggles my mind how teams get away with that and we never do it. We just let them blow past us. Every team gets away with the little interference

I like when joe shits on the Rangers.
Me too, but not when he is shitting on the wrong one, like blaming Laf on that last goal. Please explain to me Joe how Laf “mishandled” the puck when the guy chipped it over his head to a streaking Hughes.
