He’s not good at making in-game adjustments other than “hard to the net” which literally any one of us could bring to the table.

His press conferences suck. He just repeats empty platitudes.

He’s not good at formulating lines. He doesn’t understand how to balance lines. he thinks throwing a Vesey or Goodrow on a line is balancing the line. Literally no other team in the league does this. Every other team in the league has their best players playing together within reason. Imagine if Boston was like oh we can’t put Pastrnak with Marchand and Bergeron, we need To put Sean Kuraly on the RW to balance that line.

He’s stubborn with young players. Literally Laffy and Kakko came out saying how confident they felt playing with Mika and he gave them 1.25 games together, now they’re back on the kid line.

Does he even have any tactical systems? Relies completely on his assistants, plays basic dinosaur hockey.

The only thing he is good at is pleasing veterans and bringing a gutsy attitude. I’m over it. Not a single one of these forward kids is going to develop under him.

I'll give you the shot, it's definitely above average. But passing? I dunno. I've seen too many lackadaisical passes that lead to turnovers. Or him throwing the puck away for nothing. I know he was touted as a playmaker but his playmaking ability at this level is very suspect.

Lafreniere is the 1st of the draft classes to lose a literal year of prime development and growth to the pandemic.

You basically have to set every draft class affected by it a year back.

Also, yeah Lafreniere just isn't as good as Hughes in general. But theres also other factors.
