-Clearly better at development, which should be the focus over wins
-Has good ideas but needs a better roster to implement (that's true of a lot of coaches). IMO the team looks more offense-oriented, but the roster is the remnants of defense-first era. It's a long transition into a competing window.
-MSL is a coach that will thrive from a better batch of assistants. Burrows and Co. will go soon enough but there's no reason to bring in the coaches you get to help you win too early.
-MSL may not be the coach for the competing years either, but I think its evident that he is working well with our key youngsters. When the vets get traded and more young guys show up to fill out the roster, it will be interesting to see what changes about the team.

There is a way to lose. Boring low-effort games are the worst and tonight is one of those.

Dick Irvin would never have asked such a stupid question! Just goes to show how empty and shallow sports commentating has become.

Trying to figure out why they came out not ready to play. Makes little sense that they were flat from the opening faceoff
 
I get Hugo are trying to get value out of the vets at Deadline but at what point is it just doing more harm then good?

Getting a 4th instead of a 5th for say Armia or Dadonov isnt overly appealing if its taking reps from younger players
 
At this point I'm just watching to see how some streaks will extend.

There’s an enormous void of leadership to be filled on this team. I feel guys like Xhekaj, Slaf and Guhle are going to step up here.
 
We only won once in our old navy blue retro third jerseys last year (say that 5 times fast) so they really are a curse.
Only 5 more games with them after this one.
