Remember the "I'm not sitting guys because of play but to keep them healthy" spiel?

Maybe that applies with Mackenzie.

Exactly, although I think we all agree that Mason starting takes away a huge chunk of confidence from the fans and arguably the room. It's too easy to picture a 3-1 deficit at second intermission tonight. :shakehead

This team is use to being down. The quick goal by Nashville on the very 1st shot of the game, getting outplayed soundly in the first period by Detroit and getting down 2-0 in that game. So I don't think (or maybe I'm hoping) this team will quit like a lot of the Jackets teams even if they get down.

I also really expect Mason to play well this year. He's fighting for another 1 way contract after this season, I'm sure he understands if he plays as poorly as he has the last couple of seasons that he'll be lucky to get a minimal 1 way contract with little job security.

This definetely feels like a 3-2 game with the 5th goal coming in OT or SO. Not sur ewho will win but I would be happy to get a point on the road.

Another desperate team with the CBJ in front of them. I'll be interested to see how both teams start out.

I am a fan of the line changes. Mason might as well start against the Yotes rather than the Avs at this point.

With Mason in net, I will not be surprised to have a final score of 6 to 2 Phoenix

New year, new start. I'm not going to put him down until he gives me reason to do so. That's more of the, "old CBJ" approach.

Hope for a better showing than against Detroit. Less giveaways, better dzone play by all would be good. Bob saved the bacon the other night to get one point. Time for Mason to see what he can do, although I would still ride Bob.

Want to see what Cam can do with Dubi and Artie. The Brass line needs something, maybe Dorsett can help, not holding my breath.

O/U on how many hits Vermette has tonight. I'll go U 1!

Would be less worried about Mase going tonight if he had been playing somewhere during the lockout. Hope he proves me wrong and steals 2 points for us tonight.

I know Phoenix has had their share of attendance problems but so have the Jackets. Personally, I would love to see hockey thrive in a non traditional hockey market like Phoenix.

Go Jackets!

so am i right in assuming you get 2 points for a win, 0 for a loss, and 1 for an overtime win/loss? which means we could be in sole possesion of 2nd with a W tonight correct?

Considering this team is so young, and so new, and have barely played together, I think the last two games have been encouraging. This team already feels like a better team than last year's team, and many of the pivotal guys barely know one another. A few more games in, I like what we may have. I'm taking three goals for CBJ tonight but I'm not ruling out four. I'm crap at calling the scorers, though, but one comes from the blue line.

I'm optimistic (generally, but also) about Mason this season. I think Bobs plays himself into the starter, but I expect competitiveness out of Mase... :dunno:

By all rights, the Blue Jackets should win this game.... The Jackets have a very experienced defense, decent forwards and a few young players playing their hearts out...

The key will be the CBJ goal tending, yep, at times the goal tender needs to make plays and save games... If Mason starts it will be the game of his life... he better play well.

JD WILL BE WATCHING....

Welcome back. And what better way to emerge than by agreeing with me on everything you said?;)

Correct. :) but technically, we would be in 4th, because the top 3 spots go to the division leaders.
