So, Atkinson-Anisimov combo? Hopefully it works. As I said it before I don't like the idea of Cam on the line with the guy who had 0 assists in more than 2 hours of power play time last year.
Mason in Phoenix means that Bob starts in Denver and I like it. There's some kind of competition is going on between Bob and Varlamov since they were kids. Last time when they met in the KHL on January 4th Bob had a shutout and Varlamov gave up 4 goals. Anisimov played for Varlamov's team then.

And Letestu is in for Mac.

I'm all for giving Letestu a shot but this I don't approve. I would argue that Mac is and for the last couple of years has been the most solid player on this team in terms of what is expected of him and what he's getting paid for. He also epitomizes the hard working culture the team is trying to establish. I don't remember the guy ever taking a shift off. So assuming Mac is fully healthy, the 4th line should be his.

I agree Mac is an important part of the team, but who do you sit to get Letestu on the ice?

Happy to see Letestu in, not sure if I really agree with Mac sitting out.

Also ready to see if Mason can take a step forward.

How does Umberger get into game shape if he is sitting? And I still do not understand what Brass I am watching because it seems to be a different player then some on this board.

Exactly, although I think we all agree that Mason starting takes away a huge chunk of confidence from the fans and arguably the room. It's too easy to picture a 3-1 deficit at second intermission tonight. :shakehead

Maybe by not skipping the optional skate yesterday?(ok that probably doesn't work, but it does go to his leadership) Maybe by working out during his coaching stint? So the team should suffer while he gets in game shape?

Grasping at straws with the first part and says nothing about leadership. As for the second part do you have proof that he did not working out during the lockout?

So showing up at an optional skate is not an example of leadership? I beg to differ. If I don't see one of the alleged leaders show up, why should I? Granted I'm not sure the skate is all that helpful, but what's next maintenance days or taking Nash's seat on the bike?

And i have no clue if he did work out but by your own admission he doesn't appear to be in game shape. So if he did work out it doesn't appear to have helped much.

Sitting him might light a fire under him. if the order of the lines as posted are real, then having Letestu sub for him on the third line makes sense to me.

Nope, it just something else that fans think is important when its really not.

Any player that was not playing during the lockout is not going to be in game shape and this can be seen all over the league.

More fan speak.

I am giving him a few more games and if I don't see improvement then I will worry. Right now its just a bunch of overreactions.

Don't think MacKenzie should be sitting tonight, but I think its best to give everybody a shot , see what Letestu can bring tonight and eventually see whose efforts bring the best results for the team.

I would have liked to have seen Dorsett sitting instead and Calvert moved up. Pretty near everyone here would take Dorsett over Boll but so far this year Boll is skating more, forechecking harder, just basically everything you'd expect from him. I know it's easy to pick at Dorsett because he is being misused and put in a postition he shouldn't be in but i believe there is only room for 1 of them in the lineup and atleast so far i'd say Boll is playing harder. Umberger and Brassard are most deserving to sit based on play and effort but you know thats not gonna happen

Forgot this was gonna be a late game... Hopefully the new Jackets don't disappoint... When they **** the bed on the west coast games (happened 90% of the time) it made the loss much worse because I was going to feel it the next day. Anyway, I feel like effort will be less of an issue this year since it'll take effort to not get embarassed. Close game, I predict
