If I recall correctly (at 4 am, my vision isn't perfect :D) something around

Daniel - Kesler - Hansen
Higgins - Henrik - Booth

Hamhuis....seem to be a mobility issue to me so I'll lean towards the groin injury as well. The mistakes he is making really seem to be things that he would normally be able to get to but he is that half step slower in the acceleration department. It's leading to glaring errors. Either needs to get healthy or needs to adjust his game with the realization he is having these issues.

Doesn't make for a good Hamhuis-bieksa pairing...one slow in the legs and the other a bit slow in the head at times.

Nope,

Higgins - Henrik - Santorelli

Booth was up with the twins, but when they split them up Santa went on Henrik's wing (hence the Henrik to Santorelli tying goal).

Thank you. I feel that something wasn't right (other than splitting the twins, i sense a disturbance in the force when that happens) but i remembered Booth playing with Hank and with Higgins and just connected the dots.

Now that was a game.
Edm should be pretty embarrassed that Calgary could actually provide competition to Vancouver when they couldn't LOL

Lucky to pick up 2 pts after that mess. A lot of missed assignments and what the heck is up with Edler? It is time for him to get his stuff together. I read a cpl posts from members in the game day thread calling Edler the #1 dman and the most complete package we have on D. Seriously!? Those members need to give their heads a shake. Edler has been playing like garbage going all the way back to early last season. I think the Canucks should have traded him before his NTC kicked in. Every fan base overrates their players and Edler is definitely one of the players our fan base does this with.

Edm will be a very different team with RNH and Gagner in the line up. I won't say better though. :)

Edler had a pretty good game. Much like MS, I don't know what you guys are complaining about so much.

Hated seeing him and KB3 out there at the end of the game. Sure enough Calgary scores to tie it up.

At least KB3 made up for things on the GWG

Hamhuis has been pretty horrible too. Don't know what is going on with him. Way below standards.

And to think that Bieksa is the guy who gets all the grief. Mind you I thought Edler was not the worst defenceman. Hamhuis has been an absolute mess. On the other hand, number 3 made a heck of a play on the winning goal.

Bieksa is the classic high risk/high reward kind of D.

And fortunately, last night's game ended with the high reward..

A least I was.

New defense system should ring any bells on all the criticism, or not...

I dislike our top 4 yesterday but, with Edmonton, they were much better. Give it 10-12 games and then everyone could start main board threads about "Value of: insert your Vancouver defenseman here"

You think Edler had a "pretty good game"?.. I guess I shouldn't be surprised by your opinion. It is a rarity when you call it like it is with respects to a Canucks player. I often wonder if you are employed by the Organization.

As time goes on Edler will get less and less ice time from torts. He will lose all confidence in him.

I guess Torts is also blind considering Edler led the team in minutes. It's not like I'm the only one with this opinion, you can read back a few pages for other reviews of the game.

And 'call it like it is'? Sorry if I don't jump on every bandwagon. Like when three games ago our 3rd line sucked and now those same people are drooling over Santorelli and Richardson.

I agree. I think they've all seemed out of sync and could be because of a new system. With the other guys it is something new, with Edler this is something that has been going on for 3 seasons now. My biggest fear is that Edler has already peaked and we are seeing a player who is digressing.

we're only 3 games into the season...hamhuis being able to adjust to playing under tortorella's system is the least of my worries for the team

however he probably won't get team canada consideration, if only because he'll get overshadowed by a fellow canadian d-man on his team that's primed to have a massive year...wouldn't be surprised if jason garrison is among the top 3 nhl d-men in goals / points by december if he continues his strong play

I think people have pre conceived notions to an extent. When Edler struggles defensively as he has for over a year now, people don't call him Casual Alex or say that he's high risk high reward. But really that description has been more fitting for Edler than Bieksa for some time now. I still have high hopes for Edler but I just find it interesting the different way that people view him and Bieksa.

Canucks still have a lot of work to do. Let's be honest, they played the two worst teams in the NHL for their past two wins. I'm looking forward to seeing how they do against some decent teams.

Loved the fact that Torts praised Stanton post game for making a high risk play.

Not sure I get the complaining about Edler. Him and Garrison have been our best pairing in my view. Hamhuis' skating is pretty obviously pointing to a lower body injury as many of us noted since game 1 of the season.

Agreed. Garrison has picked up right where he left off last year. He's been great at both ends.

The game put me to sleep at the end of the 2nd. Literally. I fell asleep, and finally woke up about 30 min ago. The outcome? Really surprising...we looked downright awful for the first 2 periods, but I guess the Flames are really unable to maintain leads. Still nice to rack up some points before that giant road trip...
