Love the idea of Boyd but raise you an Anderson.

I really would love to see Robertson, Anderson and Boyd draw in for Thornton, Vesey, and Barabanov. To me that gives you a huge shift in effort and compete level

I think Vesey has been good. Quiet night last night, but that line as a whole did after a great night against MTL.

Thornton needs to be on line 4, but he's fine. (We don't have space right now to keep Thornton on roster as a scratch and bring in someone from the taxi squad) As the season goes on, we will gain more cap space, and will be able to carry extra bodies as scratches, in which case, year, Thornton can sit every now and then.

Barabanov... he's barely played. I've noticed him a couple times despite that. But I am totally fine with assigning him to the taxi squad (he doesn't require waivers like Thornton/Dell) and bringing in Robertson/Anderson/Boyd for a game. Those four might as well be on a solid rotation. Brooks too even.

Soup is an average hockey player

Without the scoring touch he showed off the bat he isnt a top 6 player. And Id bet that start was the aberration

Keefe is starting to lose me with some of his choices, it seems like the Columbus series and resulting media circus really got in his head. Maybe it got in Shanny's head and the pressure to play a more traditional style and lean on "vet leadership" is coming from above.

I love it. Looking flawed the way it’s set up. The taxi squad doesn’t work right. Why have Brooks there and Boyd two center and no waiver exempt defense like Liljigren. They can’t change a dman and a forward same time. Anyway I’ll digress until i see this play out. Thornton is going to be insulted big time. I don’t give a hoot if he is. Keefe probably does and is regretting putting him right on the top line right now. Heat is on already

Kidding aside, super happy to see Campbell get this start. Let's ride the hot goalie from here on out. Let's get a proper effort from the boys too. Everyone except Hyman's line has to do something tonight.

I would be more interested in removing Barabanov since he isn’t even using him and changing the forward lines with the addition of Robertson beside Matthews.

Putting Barabanov on the taxi squad and calling up Robertson, Boyd or Brooks is pretty much the only roster move they have immediately available.

I would like to see Robertson on the first line in place of Thornton, and Thornton on the old-timers line instead of Barabanov with Spezza and Simmonds.

They could actually play a full three-man first line with wheels and no flat tires.

They could also put the old-timers out once or twice a period for old-times sake and to give them a bit of an airing, without expecting the 41 y.o. to try in vain to keep up with the star 23 y.o.'s.

then again I can make all the line combos BUT work ethic and compete level cannot be thought it has to come from within; hating to lose; willing to compete, i.e. it has to come from the heart. This team lacks heart IMO

This is not a off day. There is no cap saving. Robertson was moved to go in

I think this is the biggest game of Campbell's career.

With all the uncertainty surrounding Freddy, if Campbell goes out there and shuts the door he can create that goalie controversy and maybe even steal the starter role.
