Think Keefe is trying to get three lines going, it’s a bit of a compliment in one sense.I'm near convinced that this is about tanking his numbers so that he can't ask for 4 million dollars this off season.
An NHL player scoring a goal while playing alongside top tier players isn’t a cause for celebration. How he affects his line mates’ play has been on and off. It’s logical to criticize this given the success previous line combos have had.
It's weird. Still the fly-bys and no-hitters, pretty much same as last year. Yep, only the faces have changed...Leafs look pretty good in the first period. I just wish this team hit more. You can't win games regularly by being so soft.
Completely forgot zibanejad doesn’t play for the sens any longer
I think Mikheyek-Kerfoot-Hyman is a decent line, and I don't want to be a 2 line team. I'm fine with the experiment a little longer. Kerfoot and Hyman both already have a goal after 2 games, so it's not doing too badly imo.Marner's play was the best news of that period. These lines are still ridiculous, Hyman is being wasted in that spot, Mikheyev is adding nothing.
This is the definately-no-Leafs-favouritism national broadcast. Make sure to show the Leafs every saturday, but showcase their opponent all night.Tim Stuetzle gets his name dropped a lot for a guy who spent the period wiping snow off his ass.
If we don't find room to give him $4m another smart team will and I'd hate to see him go to Boston or the Sens or some other close rival teamI'm near convinced that this is about tanking his numbers so that he can't ask for 4 million dollars this off season.
Apparently they changed the rule 2-3 years ago. Was news to me as well.I'm more pissed at that brutal call on Marner.
I always find Bieksa a lot more well-spoken than i would expect. He has some nice charisma and is a good member of the panel imo
I think Thornton and Simmonds are good additions... but Spezza, Vesey, Barabanov, Mikheyev is a big selection of players who are purely offensive players that bring no other intangibles. Would Anderson, Robertson bringing their energy every single night and youthful enthusiasm be more effective for the team? Maybe keep one (Mikheyev) but I don't know if I agree with such a big group of reclamation type projects.Marner's play was the best news of that period. These lines are still ridiculous, Hyman is being wasted in that spot, Mikheyev is adding nothing.
In a shortened season, when your top line isn’t contributing and is not generating quality chances against the team that ranked last in goals against, it becomes a problem, cap hits notwithstanding.Of all the problems the Leafs have had so far, I'd say Thornton ranks quite close to the bottom.
It’s never roughing the kicker if you get ball lol.Apparently they changed the rule 2-3 years ago. Was news to me as well.
Now, even if you get the puck first, it’s still tripping.
