So you are saying our top scoring line has been crap and our #1 line which has done virtually nothing on the score sheet has been great ??

in a short sample size, a line playing like shit can score - much like a line playing well and generating chances can put up zeroes. Over time that tends to even out. Not sure what’s hard to understand about that.

Interested to see how Robertson fits in tonight and the potential change of that for others. I'm okay if Dell isn't pressed into action tonight though from the backup role since that would typically mean the game is not trending in a good direction for the team.

Gotta allow less than 4 goals or anything more will just feel like a loss no matter what. Can't let one of the worst teams in the NHL light you up on 2 consecutive nights.

In fairness to our Leafs and Ottawa, the Sens have made some nice offseason additions and are a better team then they're getting credit for.

They had 9 new players in yesterday line-up from the team that finished last season.

While our Leafs have far more experienced talent and should win based on skill, the games are still going to be somewhat competitive because the Sens work and compete hard.

That said Leafs should win this game going away putting up 5 or so goals themselves.

I get that, but they are still projected to be one of the worst teams. How many people have them above last place in the division? Virtually none. What I am saying is, I don't want to see another game allowing 4+ goals to them. I want to see our Leafs establish their dominance as a team that is supposed to be near the top of this division.

Campbell couldn't retire Freddy the last two games, I don't think Dell is going to see ice time tonight.

How can Dell be backup? Thought he had to go through waivers?

I hope Vesey gets put on the 4th line in place of Robertson, or Robertson takes Jumbo’s spot when he sits for a shift or two like Hyman has. I just hope he gets a legitimate chance and not glued to the bench for 55 minutes a game

______ Matthews Marner
Vesey Tavares Nylander
Mikheyev Kerfoot Hyman
_______ Spezza Simmonds

Swap Robertson and Thornton 10 min each

Why is this Habs fan posting on our board?

More actually. Arguably 13 new faces last night.

Watson, Gudbranson, Coburn, Murray, Josh Brown, Watson, Stepan, Stutzle, Dadonov, and Paquette

Batherson only played 20 games each last season as well. Norris played 3. Wolanin missed all of last season too.

If Galchenyuk comes in for Anisimov tonight, it could be 13-14.

Only by the end of the season will we be able to determine where teams should have been ranked. Maybe by then we'll know which teams it was "okay" to lose to.

i run these lines tonight

Hyman Matthews Nylander
Vesey Tavares Marner
Kerfoot Thornton Roberston
Myk Spezza Simmons

Bogo Rielly
Brodie - Muzzin
Holl - Dermott

I have a hunch Robertson is going to get looks with Tavares and Nylander tonight.
Based on nothing other than the fact that Vesey is the obvious weak link and management want to set Robertson up for success.

Sure but I'd rather evaluate players based on their play and output. The analytics folks can crunch the numbers as they wish.

Does anyone have an explanation to why Andersen is not dressed?
For "rest"...which is a joke. They're sending a message to him. Buddy has a .839 save percentage. He's been awful yet again to start a season. He could rest just fine sitting on the bench. They just don't wanna come right out with it and say that "he's been garbage so he'll sit"
