Carlsson and McTavish are future stars.

I went to last night's game, and my eyes kept going back to Carlsson. His combo of skating, size, smarts, calmness, and hands is absurd for an 18-year-old. He has that presence that some players just have.

It's always tough to come up with a comparable, but he reminds me of a better version of when Nichushkin is at his best. I would easily trade any Rangers forward to get him.

Watching guys like him is the best part of watching hockey other than watching the Rangers compete for a Cup.

Zegras could be a star, but so far his flash has impressed me more than his overall game.

Mintyukov is an excellent skater with size and offensive potential. He could end up excelling offensively and defensively, but it will take a couple seasons to mature and grow into his body. He certainly looks like he could be their #1 defenseman for a long time.

Carlsson looked really good. So does Fantilli with Columbus. Anaheim though is looking at Carlsson, MacTavish and Zegras as their 1,2,3 centers. Don't know if Zegras might end up on the wing really just because you'd want them all in your top 6 but that's some serious talent at the center position albeit still on the inexperienced side. MacTavish IMO has Messier like potential. Big, strong, physical, a real leader type.....he was the Captain of the 2022 Canadian WJC team that won gold and he was a stud throughout and he made a key right play right time and very skilled defensive play to win the tournament.

I've read recently on nhl.com there was a GM meeting or something and the question was raised about what the rules of the game are for the players to get thrown out from the face off.
But they have no answers for the boarding, kneeing, charging…incessant goal reviews…etc…

Verbeek has come out and said he sees Carlsson and McTavish as the 1-2 punch down the middle, moving Zegras to the wing. Zegras numbers are down because he missed the entire camp and most of preseason and has been focusing on defense, plus he was injured as well. I still see him being a 70-80 point Top 6 winger.

Any team relying on their 13th and 14th forwards is going to have an ugly bottom six.

Any idea why they called Mackey up, just to have both him and Jones on hot dog duty?
