I missed the 1st 2 periods 1st time this season. Don’t mind it now. At least I saw the Wennberg goal. Feel for the Reddit fan who met Zetterlund/Eklund earlier today.

I haven't been watching that carefully but has Celebrini been benched?
Ok, answering my own question now. He's definitely been benched.

Can anyone who watched the first 2 periods offer any guesses as to why?

Just scoreboard watching Eklund is a -4 and is getting plenty of ice time.

Yep I can also confirm Celebrini got benched, can’t say the exact time it started but it seemed like he didn’t get a shift in the last 5 minutes or so, and yes he was definitely seen on the bench….

Out of respect to Vanacek, I imagine.
I get that and I’m for that, however only when the goalie is playing well and the team is dogging it, but today that wasn’t the case the whole team sucked from coaches on down. Game was long gone Vitek was not good no need to get Blackwood sparked up too when you have another game in 2 days

It's a good lesson for the team, including Celebrini, about how good they need to be every game to play in this league. And how bad it can get when you're not. Celebrini has never experienced this sort of loss yet and there's definitely lessons to be learned. An off game can get away from you in a hurry and Celebrini's line was pretty bad to start this game.

Unfortunately, we didn't make much progress in the tank race. Montreal won, but it was a regulation win against Nashville who is also competition at this point. And Detroit, NYI, and Anaheim all lost in regulation.

I still think Nashville and NYI are way better than their records and will turn it around. But Anaheim, Chicago, Detroit, and Montreal are all terrible and should provide some serious competition in the tank race. Initially I thought only Chicago would but we are a little better than I thought and the other 3 are a little worse than I thought.

well i got a digit of my SNOG right. just went to the wrong team.

guess it's good that they recognize they weren't sharp. it was a very different level of quality compared to last game.

SNOG announcement

I guess there wasn't much likelihood of this sort of blowout SNOG after the past few games.

I wonder how much panic of "we can't finish last" will infect ANA, MTL, DET, NSH etc and influence them to make a competitive move.

I'm chalking this up as a bad game. Nothing useful to be gleamed off of this. Mack Benched. The young guys all minuses. Total collapse from the start of the game. Reminds me eerily of last year. Let's just move on but istg if this happens again...
