Maybe Zadorov takes some dumb penalties. Maybe slashing and crosschecking Raymond for diving and whining was one of those. But maybe calling it out caused the Refs to ignore DeDumbass DeBrincat's spin o rama triple axle attempt to draw a call in OT on Pasta. Or maybe not. And speak of the Pasta, he may not be the Pasta we know as far as filling the net but Pasta the Playmaker has set up teammates for some really big goals.

Went back and watched the goal in OT, definitely a full on dive by Debrincat or he atleast gets outmuscled from behind by Pasta. Then goes and cries to the ref right after. Embarrassing either way. Love it.

This team is finding ways to win under Sacco even though it’s not pretty. There’s something to be said about that. They’re still a 1C or a top 6 winger from being serious and have no cap space.

Korpisalo’s blocker save actually got me out of my chair. That was awesome. Playing so well right now. Credit to him and goalie Bob.

This team needs Hampus back in the worst way 5 on 5, but keep Lohrei on the PP please. Had a number of purposeful wristers that were deflected that could have went in. One did.

This was the first game of the year where I thought Frederic had a number of good shifts in a row. Still not a lot to show for it. Give me the Jeannot package baby! (Please)

I have noticed this as well.

Him and Lindholm both have the skill to make much more of a difference in the offensive zone. Couple that with Marchy and Pasta struggling and you get a severely offensively challenged team. PP isn't clicking and no-one can step up and fill those roles. Hopefully our upper-tier guys can get things going soon, these grinding wins aren't pretty to look at and bad for blood pressure.
Grinding wins, unpretty and bad for blood pressure describes playoff style hockey, to a T. Sign me up!

What a stupid f***ing dive. Husso should've been pissed, at him!

Exactly. If DeBrincat plays Pasta straight up Pasta would not have been freed to make that pass. Instead DeBrincat goes full Ice Capade mode with that dive & the rest is history. If I was Husso I would have fed DeBrincat my stick.

This reminded me of that game vs Montreal in 04(?) when a Hab (Pacioretty?) went down at the blue line like he had been shot and Glen Murray waltzed in alone to score the winning goal.

Way before patches days, it was the Russian Kovalev

Not only did DeBrincat flop to try and draw a call, he got up only to dive again on the ice to try and get back to Zacha, who scored the GW'er. Hope his embarrassment teaches him a lesson.

Not the best game. They didn't seem overly energetic or engaged, Korpisalo was very good and they didn't give up a ton of chances for the Wings. They won despite being outplayed. Under Monty this was the type of game they'd lose.

I'm getting older so I don't recall things as well as I used to. Plus Pacioretty is a diving fool so I thought of him first lol

Yeah Patches was Greg Louganis out there. Sadly Detroit is basically the Chinese National diving team. They have taken the art form to a new level, and they have an entire roster focused on it

I wish Pasta would watch video's of Ricky Middleton. Of course 90% of it was talent 10% hard work (Numbers may vary depending on what brand cigarette Ricky was smoking that day) IMO they have a certain set of skills that are comparable. Of course he would have to develop those skills and I doubt it's too late in his career/development but if he's smart/ talented enough he can take parts of Middletons game and apply it to his own.
His old moves aren't fooling anyone and now he's relegated to working his ass off for every point.
I remember 2 nick-names for Rick Middleton: 1) Nifty 2) Magic

Watching the video, I see a lot of Brad Marchands old moves in what RM used to do too.

I love this guy and the much needed nastiness he brings
Zadorov showed his powerful shot last night and Bruins fans love physical, nasty players and he brings all that to the table

And the thing I like most about him is that he defends teammates. He never backs down
