Two points the hard way

They played poorly - blame all the Centennial hoopla this time but....this is not a team that inspires any degree of confidence

The record under Sacco is the most deceptive 5-2 I can ever remember.....hopefully it is buying time for DS to make the needed changes without looking totally desperate
I'll take the 2 points, but this team doesn't need any more excuses. They need to be better.

Bruins if playoffs start today are 3 seed opening on road at Florida

Why those 2 blown games last week v Vancouver & Pitt hurt. Those 4 points put first in division before Leafs games in hand

Healthy H Lindholm, Pasta & Swayman back to expected level they likely win division- but not sure they need that pressure
If the playoffs started today, the Bruins wouldn't be in it.

You can't end the season with more games played and go by points. Win percent puts them in 9th place.

Beat Chicago tomorrow and you can jump over 8th place Philadelphia on Saturday.

Nice to win but this team is hard to watch this year. Dull and uninteresting for most of the games and this won't get it done for the playoffs. Lack of offensive talent is glaring.

Still, they find ways to win more than they probably deserve so it could be worse.

Kinda ugly but Bruins were better more physical team

Detroit is the softest wings team I’ve ever seen

And the flopping - embarrassing

Bruins played down to their level
It is almost impossible to believe the Red Wings once employed Joey Kocur, Bob Probert, Darren McCarty and Gerard Gallant.

All you people that want speed and skill by itself, that is what Yzerman has been building for years now and it isn't working.

Gordie Howe, Ted Lindsey, and of course 5’6 Dennis Polonich who over 3 years averaged 250 PIM on those shitty early 80’s teams

If yzerman wasn’t on the Wings Mount Rushmore of hockey he would be fired long ago

It was far from an exciting game and that ridiculously long review on the disallowed goal was frustrating. Even though the Bruins won the challenge, it is a coin flip at times. How does it take that long to decide?

At least the Wings lost a point for diving, as Zadorov said, they are men, so play like it. It really is embarrassing. Thank you Hockey Gods for getting it right.

Only 3 pages? Wow.

1) Get Korpi a few more starts please. He's just the better goalie right now

2) Has there been a Bruin since Z with a shot as hard as Zadarov? Man he shoots hard, and he didn't even get all of it.

3) Lindholm needs better coverage in his own end still. It'll come

I still think we've been getting goalied a fair bit. We've seen a lot of good goaltenders of late.

Zacha has oodles of skill hes just gotta be more consistent. Keep it going pavel!
Him and Lindholm both have the skill to make much more of a difference in the offensive zone. Couple that with Marchy and Pasta struggling and you get a severely offensively challenged team. PP isn't clicking and no-one can step up and fill those roles. Hopefully our upper-tier guys can get things going soon, these grinding wins aren't pretty to look at and bad for blood pressure.

Fun game to watch. Caught the rest this am. Thankful as well the league stopped the vendetta against the Bruins with the officiating. Very thankful this holiday season as well for having the three teams with the longest play-off droughts in the league in our division.

Bruins need to keep cleaning up vs the bottom feeders.

Nikita Zadorov, however, had the biggest impact.

Zacha ripped home a nifty feed from David Pastrnak at 2:15 of overtime to give the Bruins a 3-2 win over the Red Wings Tuesday night at TD Garden.

Zadorov’s prints were all over the victory that boosted Boston to 13-11-3.

Zadorov scored his first home goal as a Bruin, but more importantly, he set a tone of physicality with some bruising body checks.

“I thought he was engaged in the game tonight,” said coach Joe Sacco. “He was physical, and he was just defending hard. When he was on the ice, the opposition knew.”

Joonas Korpisalo made 25 saves, none bigger than his acrobatic blocker swat on Red Wing center Michael Rasmussen with Detroit holding that 2-1 lead.

“Crazy bounce,” said Korpisalo. “I was a little bit too late. Tried to scramble over, but I couldn’t really get there so I just threw my blocker out there. Just instincts. There’s no time to think. Bounces happen, and you’ve got to be ready for that. So yeah, I’m happy it hit my blocker this time.”

It was a quiet opening 20 minutes both on the ice and in the stands. A quick peek at the quagmire on the Charlestown bridge explained the empty seats and lack of energy in the building early.

Moments after the Bruins killed the penalty, Zadorov got into a tussle with Ben Chiarot after the pair raced to the end boards in an icing chase.

The dust-up ended quickly — fortunately for Chiarot as Zadorov had him pinned to the ice. Both were sent off with double roughing minors that leaked into the third.

The OT win was Boston’s fifth in seven games under Sacco.

Zadorov said the difference has been palpable.

“I think we’re playing with the passion. I think we’re playing with pride. I think we’re playing for each other,” he said. “I thought we were disconnected before. That’s what wasn’t working. I don’t think we fixed much Xs and Os. I think it’s the same system, same game plans. We’re just doing that this time.”

The Detroit Red Wings are a very unlikable team

I was surprised at how much they dived last season, but they're right back at it again this season ...although they're not fooling the refs as much this year

..their Bond villain coach must having diving practices closed to the public

I say it every time we play them, but I despise the Red Wings. Not in a rivalry hate way like Montreal, Toronto, or even Florida. But just in a pure hatred on the players they have and the way they are coached and the way they disrespect the game. Obviously the perfect example is Debrincat diving in overtime leading to the Bruins game and them whining like the pathetic dogs they are about no call.
