I think it's a pretty clear indicator that he's not in their future plans, and he's a borderline nhler at best regardless.

Pezz gets to collect an nhl paycheque for now but I think he's on borrowed time with the Habs.
He’s not even getting into the occasional game.

His last game played was on Oct 27th, one of only 3 games he got into this season.

At least, Pezzetta hasn’t complained publicly, not that I’ve heard anyway. He’s still drawing an NHL salary for showing up at practice, not a bad deal for a lower weight energy player. 💀

Something that seemed unattainable is now a possibility with Laine. We can finally dream big.
Just a possibility??

No one cares
They MUST be showcasing someone by not having PEZ in the lineup.
Does anyone else remember the clip when Pezz discussed NHLers having to pay more tax in Canadian cities? He said it is more appealing for free agents to sign in the US(don't quote me). I wonder if the Habs liked hearing that coming from a fringe player?

I do. but luckily for him, he wont be getting many bonuses this year and wont have to pay that much in taxes

The bottom line is that this team will look very different next season. Some vets will be gone, Primeau will be gone, I’d suspect they’ll sign RfA’s, make a trade or 2. I wouldn’t be surprised if none of the prospects make it out of camp. They’re going to be expected to compete next year. You don’t do that by adding another 3 or 4 20 year olds. Maybe (most probably) Demidov makes it. Maybe Tuch as a 4th liner.

I expect that Demidov and Reinbacher will make the team next year. After that, all open position should more likely go to proven/experience player. As I said in another post, this is what MTL has to go with going into next season.

CC - Suzuki - Demidov
Laine - [XXX/Dach] - Slaf
Newhook - Evans - Heineman
Gally - [XXX] - Anderson
Roy - RHP

Guhle - [XXX/Matheson]
Hutson - Rienbacher
Xhekaj - [XXX/Mailloux]
Struble

So odds are that if Dach cant secure the 2C role, something will be done to fix that. Finding a proven top 4RD is also a priority and a new backup G should be expected. I would try to also find a vet 4c with good faceoff skill.

Now if you trade Newhook or Anderson, you're opening a spot for Kapanen or Tuch to join the team, but that is unlikely.

Reinbacher is missing an entire year. He’s not making the team. Neither is RHP and probably not Roy. Roy as a 4th liner is a horrible idea. They’re going to add vets.

Reinbacher may return in March. So he'll have a few games in either MTL or Laval. He will need to seriously suck to not make the team next season.

Roy and RHP are on the 5th line in my chart (i.e. i dont see them making the team and thus are trade bait)

Wasn't Pezz the guy this past summer, complained about Fed/Prov taxes playing in Canada?

Surely that's not why he hasn't been used??

Possible. Not all truth are good to say. My boss is an *** but it'S preferable for me to not say it puiblicly.

Unless Dach show more in the 2nd half i'd shop for a 2nd line center on a short deal during the summer. I'd trade Matheson next summer personally and i'd try to acquire a two way top 4 RHD.

CC - Suzuki - Slaf
Laine - vet - Demidov
Newhook - Dach - Heineman
Gally - Evans - Anderson
Roy - Beck

Guhle - Reinbacher
Hutson - vet
Xhekaj - Mailloux
Struble - Engstrom

I must warn you Laine played the first game on emotion. But in the some following games, include this, he may play a little weak like it was in CBJ after his injuries.

i'm approching this season with the same view. Dach has show improvement before season end otherwise a short term solution for 2C is needed. Can't go into next season without proper support. If Dach do come back into for next year and you did get a 2c... then you're in luck and have more depth!!!

Do we know who’s in nets.? Missed it.

Edit: pretty much what would give me that sliver of confidence or not.
Nothing confirmed as of now but I would think Monty will get all the non back to back games from now until the end of the season.

If a significant part of what held him back was mental (loss of his father, entering NHL’s player assistance program), maybe he’s healed or improved significantly on that front given his ongoing therapy and passage of time. We’ll need to see how he responds.
