I was talking with my kids about this tonight. If you missed a show on Tv, that was it. You weren’t going to get to see it unless you got lucky on a re-run sometime. Same with music videos. We didn’t get a VCR until much later… if you missed Thriller then that was it. You might not see it again.

There was zero need to trade Askarov this early too. Could have been the backup. I'll be honest and say I don't mind the Stamkos and Marchessault contracts at the time, but replacing McDonagh with Skjei is horrible.
