OEL's contract is a cash burden. They have to hope they can get out of it with a trade if he's not playing 25 mins a night.

I think OEL is still capable of playing 22-23 minutes a night like Chychrun is. I doubt either will be at 25 minutes with having both on the team.

But right now I only think OEL is overpaid by like 1M. It could get ugly near the end, but the cap will also go up once Covid is done. Our D would be horrible next season not bringing him back.

It looked to me like Hammer brought his stick down on Landeskogs stick which pushed it into his skate. Hammer essentially tripped himself.

OEL got it because he was the best player, not due to any natural leadership ability. I've never liked that captaincy model.
