I think part of it, is they dont have confidence to win the board battles down low, so they get cute with it. The Torp/Walker line doesn't mind dumping.

Part of it, maybe.
But even with the WTF line it isn't consistent.
Far too many times our guys are just firing the puck into an area without giving their linemates even the slightest chance of getting to it(half of the time there's not even a linemate in the same zone as they are when they dump it). It's not even about the board battle. Nobody is winning a race to the puck from 2 zones away in today's NHL.
