Once again, Why is Skinner never expected to make a tough save?

He sucks, stop excusing his trash play.

The sportsnet graphic of him really turning around and his stats still being below average tell you everything you need to know.

I do expect him to make a tough save. I don't think Skinner is a good goalie.

But I can also judge a play on its own merit, and if you rewind a bit, it was in response to someone brushing off Leon Drai$14tl's indisputably awful play to set up the 2 on 1.

I don't get the leap that seeing a play for what it is somehow mutually exclusive with seeing a player for who he is.

Great start to the game. Dominating extended o-zone shift goes odd man run for distance the other way on an awful Draisaitl cutesy touch at the blueline. Bouchard makes a good play using the Nurse Zamboni flop but puck farts out back to the Knight attempting a cross net front pass and buries it past a befuddled Skinner.

O zone mistake, lengthy odd man rush and no save. Oil deserved better. But here they are... once again chasing Vegas.

I don’t think they deserve better. We gave up a 2 on 1 and generated nothing. 1-0 is exactly what they deserve.

I don’t think they deserve better. We gave up a 2 on 1 and generated nothing. 1-0 is exactly what they deserve.

They had a solid start. Lots of zone time. Switch flipped on the goal with Vegas building on momentum.

It’s not just this game though. People are fooling themselves if they think players haven’t noticed that he’s been a junk goalie this season (and inconsistent otherwise)

The coach is “trying to get Skinny going” and is protecting him by saying positive hogwash. They must know he sucks too

McDavid holding onto the puck way too long. It’s funny watching Vegas warm him with 2 or 3 guys because they know he’s going to hold onto it until he’s completely walled off and out of options.

Lots of zone time but they didn’t really do anything. Vegas didn’t really give up much. We gave up the lone high danger situation and low and behold it’s 1-0.
