They visibly, pretty much every game for large stretches, make it very obvious they are not willing to take a hit to make a play (other than Lindgren or Cuylle), play like shit, and get dummied. It's baffling. Other teams don't do this very often for the record.
Can't rid this team of finesse

He was on Vince's Podcast this week with some sobering stats. This team is reverting back into old habits. If they tune another coach out, the axe needs to drop on some of these players. NMC or not, that can't happen again.
Yea it was a good listen and kinda sobering

Yeah, as I've said, the bad habits are creeping back in

Missed the first, apparently didn't miss anything good. Schedule is an excuse, don't use it.

Laviolette's structure can only put lipstick on a pig for so long.

This roster is so underwhelming even with Laf being an NHL player, and a couple of injuries have turned it into a legit eyesore.

I’m not even sure what he can do with this forward group. Would let Jimbo play first line. Move Wheeler to center on the third line. The corpse of Bonino on the third line is painful. He wins faceoffs, and still gets buried.

Fast Times...

The product this league is putting out is such dog shit these days.

Just a joke the amount of scrubs in the lineup due to the flat cap.
Is that an issue with the cap? Or just the number of teams?

Have to figure the league goes to 34 teams in the next 4 years and further dilutes the talent.

Defense is horrendously overrated as you mentioned. Every night we put out a second pair which gives up a ton of offense. Lindgren who is not a top pairing D. Schneider who has a lot of problems.

Have to figure the lines go in a blender for period 2.

But I really dislike breaking up the second line because the first is garbage... And there is just no talent on the bottom 2 lines.

And that's one of the underlying issues.

The team hasn't been right since he came back. Something is seriously off. I hope they come out the rest of this game and make me eat those words.

Fox is a phenom, but he has to learn not to slow down the game every.................. single......................................... play.................................................

Up tempo hockey is a thing too especially for this already slowish team.

With our forward corps being pants, and there's not much we can do about that, we really need to be good defensively.

People say we're not playing with the same structure or same low-event approach we succeeded with but like, yeah, we took a PMD out of the top 4 and PMD out of the lineup.

We handed most of those minutes to Captain Peg-Leg and the Zamboni Brothers.

that's the fear with this core....

they get a little success and they go back to the proverbial 'fart smelling'...
True. That’s always the case with this core. And why I wanted one of them shipped out. The other way forward is to have a coach that will really keep on top of it, though. And I think laviolette is doing that. They straightened up pretty well after that first goal.
