One more thing, i might be wrong but this version of Trouba playing through his injury is really screwing up an already fragile team. Troubs is playing with a lack of composure, in addition to not being healthy, and that lack of composure is permeating the team a bit.
If he’s that hurt he should sit, but the rest of the team playing like dung doesn’t derive from Trouba

It’s not high up on the list but this team’s 3 on 3 strategy is goddamn cancer. Keep dropping the puck off at the blue line without doing anything to actually get a chance and eventually give up an odd man rush the other way. Do they not practice this stuff?

He needs to sit until he's healthy. Would the team really be any worse off?

I want to bash laf and Kakko I really do and they deserve it. But who’s playing well? Really? Which skilled forward is having a good season? None of them. Chytil maybe? Mika has been okay at best. Trocheck is basically performing at what he normally does I guess but 9 posts?

The rest of them all have been awful. It’s collective. I don’t know if they’re playoff hungover or what but none of them look confident. None of them can make any plays.

Laf had what 20 even strength goals last year as a 20 year old? He should be pumping right now.

Kakko started the year looking like an animal. He’s in hibernation.

Trouba gets beat up by Tkachuk.

Turns the puck over leading to Tkachuk’s last minute gsme tying goal.

Tkachuk scores the OT winning goal for his second of the night, both post fight. Fight that was initiated by Trouba.

Our captain got completely embarrassed by theirs.

Schneider is BETTER than Trouba right now, he was playing better tonight. Why did Gallant go back to Miller-Trouba late and WHY THE f*** is Trouba playing in OT? Wtf. Seriously.

I can kinda live with the result in a vacuum. They scored on their breakaway and we didn't. That's hockey. We controlled the overtime.

I'm frustrated just because this team is so untalented. I don't get it. I do think people overrate the skill level of the roster (paging @DanielBrassard) but there are worse rosters than this that can play real hockey and have quality young players.

Something stinks and this particular issue is only worse since they nuked the front office and honestly since they fired Quinn.

Not that I'm advocating for Gorton or Quinn but this is going backwards.
It's going backwards because Gallant is a shit coach and Drury has made a string of mistakes already, many of them in support of Gallant's "vision" and in pursuit of "tuffness". Gallant hockey ain't it - it's a decade plus out of date. The players have regressed individually and tactically, they are a bunch of individuals playing to keep their nose above the water (Panarin, Kids disappearing, Zib + Kreider bromance etc). It's obvious this group needs a coaching change. As for coaches, I don't trust any of the dino's out there. This group needs a modern coach to bring them up to today's speed, transition and space game AND install confidence in the kids, not treat them like dogs on a chain.

Find a sharp modern coach and our own MSL. Ship out Panarin asap. The C (or injuries) has turned Trouba into Nemeth. Maybe walk that decision back and have a fresh start.

Yea this was a mind f***. Schneider was one of two decent players tonight

How do you think they got so good at it?

You may be right. but the team is just playing with such a lack of confidence and composure. I saw effort tonight. But I also continue to see poor decision making, exhaustion and tons of tentativeness. There's no 5 man unit stuff happening out there. It's pretty disjointed hockey where players are not really reading off of each other well. The team is totally discombobulated and they seem totally jarred and freaked out. It's not quite Knicks bad, but it's close at times.

This group needs to find a way to get 72 more points this year.... It just seems so unlikely

I thought Kravy spoke english??? even that has regressed?

He's probably the same as Igor. He can speak English but isn't 100% comfortable doing it with the media yet. Lots of Russian athletes are the same way. When Khabib Nurmagomedov first started talking without a translator all MMA fans were like woah dude you were able to do that this whole time? Lol.

Well he had the 2nd highest xG% of any forward on the team in the game so in the middle of a game they are trying to win is the coach supposed to give ice time the guys who are going, the best players on the team, or the guys whose whole standing is "former first round pick."?

What you describe is a coaching issue, not a mid-pairing D-Man
