One thing I noticed last night is that even when Raanta has time to drop down and close his 5 hole... it's still open.

Start of the season was glorious. The team was so much fun to watch. Something has gone sour and I think it's the coach.
Yup, other teams adjust and start to play us different. A good example is how they play Garland. RT doesn't or can't adjust when that happens.

Keller is feeling the heat of those trade rumors. He is building/built a nice house and wants to stay. I know some galaxy brains are unironically advocating he be exposed to Seattle but he should stay under a new coach.

Fire Tocchet and Housley into the sun, please.
What trade rumors?

Oesterle and Goligoski weren’t bad last night. Boosh doesn’t even belong on the same ice as Minnesota. Hammer looks old, OEL looks overpaid, and Chych just needs to figure it out

I think we all known now RT has lost the room. The players will go to war and battle, that's their nature, but when they know their general in mindless they start to give up. The players know they can't win with RT as coach. RT is getting TGO treatment. Should have been fired last year, and should be fired now, not at the end of the year.

If they get shutout they can't let this helplessness linger. They need to fire Tocchet. There aren't really any roster moves you can make at the moment. Not addressing this is how you permanently mess up the culture of a franchise.

Wake up Meruelo.
Shut out or not, a mid season firing is in order. Sends a much stronger signal, rather than waiting.

And yes, ima call now mid season. Of course, I / we wanted same last year!

I think it is interesting.. as soon as Hayton was taken out of the lineup the team has looked like crap. I dont understand. The kid can play. Yes he makes mistakes but others make mistakes and really no punishment. Sorry Lawson Crouse is not a top 6 forward. Hayton should be in the top 6 and not on the 4th line.
Abso freaking lutely!
In fact I was thinking Last night (anyone correct me if I’m wrong), but wasn’t the last time the fourth line produced, with Hayton centering it? I don’t care if he’s getting fourth line minutes even, at this point, get him the hell up, where he belongs!

Yotes have just so many players who haven't been producing goals. It's actually crazy.

You got the Crouse, Fischer, and Chaput line which has literally ZERO goals for any of the players this year. Then your 3rd line is Brassard, Larsson, Caggiula with a combined 7 goals (3 for Brass/Larsson, 1 for Caggiula).

Not to mention the d-core in general hasn't scored (5 for Chick, 1 for Oesterle... that's all I'm seeing for them.)

Holy crap. That's 11 players with 7 goals accumulated TOTAL. Seriously, look at these goal totals (link goes to hockey reference).

Hell, if you take out the short leash line, the shot total drops from 605 down to 431. 431 for the rest of the team (which includes Chych who is second in shots at 60, without him it's 371!)

What's the excuse for SO many players being unable to produce shots or a single goal? Hmmmmm

That first goal was such an egregious, domino effect of lazy ass play. I wonder how RT addressed that because normally a team would battle back from such indiscretion, but we witnessed collapse instead.

Same ol’ same ol’ around here.
And no one could ever convince me Chaput is the better option of him, or Hayton. There is just NO COMPARISON on that.

An ironic thing is, if you look at the stat sheet from last night, we look like we were totally in the game but if you actually saw the game, we were totally dominated in every way. It was not even close. I'm just pointing that out for those who were not able to watch it.

I loved Allen's work here but I am curious why he can't seem to keep a job. Is he just an asshole?

Yet we have 5 players on pace for 20+ goal seasons (over 82 games). Remember when we couldn't muster one 20 goal scorer? Bottom 6 and defenseman scoring is failing us.

I would celebrate those 5 but we are the Yotes so the odds of them actually keeping up the pace are slim to none haha. However, I'll still hope cause I'm obviously a fool for this team. But very true... I would say this has been a one line team for the most part. If that line is shut down even relatively... game over.

I'm not 100% sure which I consider worse... the bottom 6 or d-men not scoring. I think I'm leaning d-men (besides Chych... Oesterle's goal was an empty netter so it really shouldn't count either honestly.). But then I think about how little the bottom 6 is contributing and it's just awful. I'm torn.

There was a time not too long ago that we had one of the top scoring d-corps in the NHL.

You don't know what you got till it's gone! Haha.

Ps, I think that's swayed me... this D core gets paid WAYYYY too much to produce goals like this. Goals per Cap hit has got to be atrocious right now.
