i totally agree but you can't play him every night Id rather him rest a night like this back to back games

To be fair, he had 4 nights rest before yesterday and it's not like he's getting a whole lot of work in the net. He faces what... 20 shots a game? Maybe close to 30 sometimes?

Re watched the 5 on 3 again, my god nobody could hit the net in close and Kopitar was so wide open most of it , he could've made a sandwich on top of the net and nobody would've noticed.

Absolutely but some of these shots are eminently stoppable by even an AHL goalie, it's not like he was out there getting schooled top-shelf by snipers after great passing plays. He was five-holed cleanly by an AHLer last night and it seems to be carrying over into today.

I don't hate the guy or anything, he's been admirable and I love him for it, and there should obviously be a higher standard for Quick, but the amount of people that want to ignore the Budaj factor and look for team failures is pretty high when sometimes it's just explainable by crap goaltending yet we're pretty fast to murder Quick when he's absolutely hung out to dry in comparison.

For Budaj, it's him, but for Quick, the team lets him down? In the Kings 10 regulation losses this year, which also includes Zatkoff, the team has scored 10 goals. In 8 of those 10 games, they've scored either 0 or 1 goal.

I'm going to blame that 1st PP unit far more than Budaj in basically any game this season. It's not ignoring the Budaj factor, but it's Peter Budaj. Score a PP goal once in a while, and maybe the 34 year old 3rd string goalie isn't going to hurt you as much. The whole team knows it's Peter Budaj. 10 goals in 10 regulation losses. If the Kings were scoring a bunch of goals, then we can focus more on Budaj. If King didn't have more 5v5 goals than Toffoli, then we could complain more about King.

lol Jim. They're not calling the goalie for leaving his crease to get in a scrum. They never call it on Quick either.

I'm talking about quality of goals against, not the big picture.

But thank you for proving my point for me. At this point we'd be talking about needing Quick to steal a game when we're running through a dry spell...but Budaj let's in 2 goals on 5 shots and it's "damn powerplay."
