Surprisingly, I think we win tonight, because that's just how things roll and because sustained losing would lead to Gallant's firing, which would be ideal at this point.
No way Gallant is getting fired after only 1 year and a few months. He will at least last the season now if they miss the playoffs who knows what will happen.

I know I'm angry after every game but I can't remember the last time I was legit this disgusted with this team. I legit don't even want to watch another game. I was on a vacation and they soured it to a certain degree. If the team cares so little and I care so much what the f*** am I doing?
In my entire time as a Ranger fan I've been eyes glued to the game, only ever missed one if I was working or had hockey of my own (and I skipped hockey for playoffs, if I miss a game I PVR it). But this season I just have it on in the background while I go on the computer, barely even pay attention at this point. We're playing Stone Age hockey, it's like we're in an entirely different era than the rest of the league. Tonight should be a great example of that, the Devils are the prototypical 2022 NHL team.

Lol yes. Dropped from my mind by watching the edited for TV version too many times
Sometimes the lines they change for TV are even funnier than the original uncut lines.

Case in point, the original Vacation, Chevy Chase asks for directions in the hood,

CC: "Excuse me, Holmes, Do you know how to get to the freeway?"
Dude on the street: "f*** Yo Mama"

Recut for TV version...

CC: "Excuse me, Holmes, Do you know how to get to the freeway?"
Dude on the street: "What do I look like, Christopher Colombo"

Every game just seems like something new and pathetic happens. Lose to horrible team, blow a huge lead, rinse and repeat. Say what you want about last year's team being outplayed a lot they had guts. They were clutch. This year's team has none of that. They're playing as if they just don't care. It seems like they're finding the worst way to lose as if they're doing it on purpose.

'The simple answer, and I’m not being flippant here, is that you probably shouldn’t watch; at least not for a little while.
If a team, which lets be honest here has no interest in you or me, is causing you to not enjoy a holiday, then it’s probably time to just back off for a bit.
A hockey game in November (or any time really) should not be having major impacts on the rest of your life.
Yes we all want to be through of as die-hards/fanatics/whatever, but the teams success or failure, which we can’t control at all, should not be affecting the rest of our lives to such a degree.
Despite the media saturation, sport is meant to be enjoyable, and that includes the ups and downs along the journey. To paraphrase the interior-design lady, “if it’s not bringing you joy, give it away” at least for a bit.

Maybe have a chat to someone about how to better deal with it all. Maybe just have a bit of a ‘detox’ and pay less attention to all the social media, forums, etc and just try to catch 1 game a week. Or maybe even go old school for a month and just check the scores the next morning in the paper.

I won't say it caused me to not enjoy the holiday but it was just something that threw a wrench into it.

When Jack Hughes drops the gloves with Kak tonight and levels him with a Mike Tyson-level knockout , we will have another 'Dolan moment' (last one was clearing the front office out entirely).

All Tom foolery aside - I think heads roll if we get leveled or have another Edmonton game.

Breakfast Club:

"what about you Dad?!"

"Flip you"

"No Dad, WHAT ABOUT YOU?!"

"FLIP YOU!"

"NO DAD WHAT. ABOUT. YOU?!?!"

"FLIP YOU!!!!!!!!!!!"

(punches air to mimic father hitting him)

Hajek paired with Fox tonight...what could possibly go wrong??
Tonight we get a little closer to rock bottom. I suspect the actual rock bottom will be against the Islanders on December 23rd. If that's the case Gallant should be fired and let the fire sale begin.
If the ship is heading for the iceberg, and you want to hit the iceberg, why change the ships pilot?

I remember spitting out my coke laughing at this scene.
There was something similar in the Breakfast Club, but I haven't seen either version in forever.

"what about you Dad?!"

"Flip you"

"No Dad, WHAT ABOUT YOU?!"

"FLIP YOU!"

"NO DAD WHAT. ABOUT. YOU?!?!"

"FLIP YOU!!!!!!!!!!!"

OMG, I literally just posted about this before reading your post. LOL.

I was thinking the scene where Judd Nelson is grilling Anthony Michael Hall about his mystery girlfriend, but that's hilarious that you brought this up.
