A W tn could be a nice spark. Got an easy ish next 3 games too… can go on a nice little run.

They need it. Got Blues, VGK, Avs and Devils in a row after the next 3. If they go into those games unmotivated it can get ugly quick
Nothing is easy in this league anymore especially if you don't play 60 min.
They lost to the worst team in the league after a great win vs Los Angeles. That same team then got destroyed but another bottom 5 team in Ottawa.

If the team that played the first 40 vs the Oilers shows up, 4-1 win.

If the team that played the last 20 against the Oilers shows up, 7-2 loss.

If a different team shows up, we either win 3-2 despite getting outshot 45-20 or lose 3-2 being outshot 45-20.

Theyll both show up at different points of the game I reckon. Then we'll hear "we gotta play a full 60" for the millionth time in the past 2 seasons

gonna have a coffee fueled rager from work tonight. whole store will be able to hear the game, and a lot of muffled curse words.

at least that bit should be fun.

gotta finish chances. Jersey looks terrific this season, and if the team we know we have doesn't show up, this one is gonna suck real early

Devils style this year is gonna kill us if Lindgren is out. They rush up together super aggressively and love forechecking three guys deep on the puck. If they don’t beat you off the rush, they’ll throw it on net and try to beat you to loose pucks.

We basically need the Game 1 version of the Rangers to show up tonight, and we’ve been straying away from that for some inexplicable reason.

Remember when we were fast?

I miss that.

chuckling that Libor has more goals than Miller/Trouba combined. and Schneider has more than all of them combined!

why would anyone want to blow up the roster before seeing them under a Trotz or other coach first? If someone like Trotz can't turn things around then yeah we've got a lemon on our hands

Yep i agree. Though watching a Trotz coached team would be a snoozefest

Surprisingly, I think we win tonight, because that's just how things roll and because sustained losing would lead to Gallant's firing, which would be ideal at this point.

He does have obvious skill and could see this being a case where he's a bigger guy and it takes a little longer for it all to come together. He has particular abilities that only a few players in the world have.

With Lafreniere, I'm just at the point where I really don't know if I see it at the NHL level.

If some schmoe on the main boards asked me in earnest what Kakko's strengths are, I would tell him that Kakko is all-world at controlling the puck, could be an elite defender in the right role, and has the potential to be a fantastic complimentary power forward. Sure, I would like to see him attack with confidence more often, but I would like to see the whole team do that.

If the same guy asked me what Lafreniere is good it, I would say "he knows where to stand for tap-ins, which is certainly something. And I guess he has a nice beard."
Don't forget that they get to dress Laffy up as a leprauchan for the St. Paddy's day parade!

All you doom and gloomers should really take the chance to jump on the Devils @ -115. When will you get a fatty like that again?
