You know this game really sucks. Again. Shesty is having a really poor game. But the team is again far too loose. I won't say much more, but there's very little chance there won't be a change soon. I don't think Drury and Dolan want to throw in the towel on the season. And things just keep getting more embarrassing. I'm not even mad anymore (well, I was 5 min ago!). I'd be shocked if management shows patience. I think a Kane trade would be a bad idea. And I don't think Kane would want to come HERE if the ship is sinking. He should be waiting to see who is a contender.

You can say bringing in another coach wont change anything but this team went to the ECF in Gallant’s 1st year. The systems may not be much different, but the voice is. Sometimes things just go stale and a new voice is needed. Gallant looks like he knows bad days are ahead for him based on the shots of him behind the bench.

i am so excited to see the line changes in the third period... as if it's just purely a line combo problem. The only line change that might be fun to watch is if Gallant doesn't come out for the third.

He’s not what they need

We are aware that Trotz torpedoed Barzals offsense in NY so he's not going to do any good for Laf or any of our offensively inclined top guys.

The point of changing a coach is to avoud changing all the players. By getting Trotz you'll need to end up changing all our players because Zibanejad/Kreider/Panarin/Laf will all struggle under his system.

Trocheck/Chytil/Kakko/Goodrow would be our top guys under Trotz which leaves us no better off.

Trotz won 1 cup in WSH. other than that he's coach mediocre make playoffs easy out teams in NSH and gotten great goaltending from Sorokin/Varlamov in NY to make 3 conference finals and lose in all 3 cause his system doesn't promote offense, which you eventually need to outscore opponents 3-2 when games get tight.

Maybe the new coach will bring something else that is entirely missing: accountabilty and rewarding players.

I thought Torts was bad, but Gallant is really in a league of his own.

But this is a trade that can happen and it needs to happen. The Vesey experiment on the first line is over. He’s terrible. Gallant has 0 ability to fix the lines with 5 forwards on the roster who are not even NHL players at this point. I’m including Laf or Kappo( you pick) in the 5

Vesey, Blais, Carpenter, Gauthier, Kappo and Laf all are absolutely terrible right now.

I'll agree with you on the bolded except for Gauthier. He's been fine given his ability and skill set.
