Just checked out the Flames GDT...
Does Calgary not have any fans, or were they just THAT frustrated with the game? It looked like nobody posted anything after the 1st period, lol.

Ohhh Thanks a ton!! :yo: I caught a bit of it on that stream..but, it will be nice to watch the whole thing.

Yeah i missed part of it and it was pretty cool to see the parts i missed.

I think they are that frustrated, see below:

I cant believe im saying this but I kind of hope they do this to us again next game to secure a rebuild

I'm sure we'd be happy to take 2 more points off their hands.

It's fitting that on Kelly Hrudey Appreciation Night the Kings destroy the Flames. Was so used to seeing that back in the early 90s, with fans chanting Veeeeeernon and Fleuuuuury. It was so much fun seeing the Kings pot 12 goals against Mike Vernon and Rick Wamsley, then seeing them just absolutely crush them in the Smythe Division quarterfinals and chase Vernon and Jeff Reese out of net. Good times.

I know most Flame fans post on another board. Not exactly sure why.. but, I'm going to guess because they get so much **** here. Maybe? IDK. That's why practically every GDT is a ghost town.

LOL at the Calgarypuck.com forum:

Regarding the first goal:

How did Brown not just score that himself?

Are the Kings so arrogant now that they are just setting up Carter anytime they can?

I'd rather watch Robert Pattinson masterbate.

Sweet jeebus is it tight in the Western Conference. The difference between 3rd place and 11th place is two points -- take one night off and you might be out of the playoffs. Here's hoping that the kids can keep stepping up under that kind of pressure *fingers crossed*

Fun stat..ehh!! or wait what?

Kopi 8 goals in 22 games on an astonishing 34 shots. Not complainig but that is a low amount of shots. Other than that he is doing his thing so one can't complain.

I don't think got beaten to the 5-hole. That would have been appropriate on Kelly Hrudey night.

Interesting stats from CBCs coverage last night.

Kings are the heaviest team in the league, with an average weight of 209.5 pounds. (Flames at 198 are tied for 26th).

Kings (amazingly) are still the youngest team in the league with an average age of 26.8 years. Flames are the oldest in the league with an average age of 30.

Mitchell and Scuds are really the only old guys. The D-corp that's playing right now is so young.

Penner himself brings up the average about 10 lbs...

What a bright future the Kings D corps has...doughty, Muzzin, Voynev and Forbert in the wings eventually.

Mitchell and Greene's absense has given Muzzin his chance and boy is he showing up. What an impressive rookie start...and he'll only get better. As of last night he's third in rookie scoring, which as a defensemen in excellent.

And what else can you say about Slava
How impressive is this stat from the Insider

Slava Voynov recorded his second three-assist game of the week. He has 10 points (2-8=10) in the last eight games.

Slava is quicklly turning into one of the most exciting young D men in the game.

And as young as he is, he's already been thru the longest playoff war a player can battle, only bodes well for this year.

I agree and great post.

I just want to add that we should all be keeping two other Dmen in our prospect pool on our radars in Gravel and Deslauriers.

Gravel imo will turn out become (if things keep going the way they have) an exceptional young Dman for us in the near future. He hits, his hockey IQ is through the roof, he plays exceptionally well in his own end and makes really smart tape to tape passes that more often than not just snap on target he can skate but isn't flashy and is good in the Ozone too, not great but good enough.

I see him as a very solid 2/3 dman given another season or two of development.

Deslauriers is developing into yet another solid PMD type who should be ready for spot duty next season and full time the following one. Just like Muzzin (and A Mart before him) he has allot of detractors but he is actually coming along nicely if you know what to look for.

Forbort should be fine, not a top pairing kind of guy but still solid and serviceable enough to make the team.

We have become Defenceman University with a grad rate of around 80% and that is pretty amazing.

The most amazing thing to me is that for as un-Kopitar as Kopitar has been for much of this year so far, he's still PPG. Crazy.

Good to see these guys produce and get their confidence up. I have no concerns about Slava, he's definitely broken out. I'm curious to see if Muzzin will keep up his play when he is with a different partner if/when Mitchell/Green comes back. Right now, he has a ton of open space out there because he is playing with Drew. If Muzz can keep it up when he is with playing with someone like Greene and DD gets back to playing with his rock WM, our defense is going to be something beautiful.

Let's not forget Martinez, either. He's a little banged up and has added defensive responsibility right now, but he's already shown what he can do when playing with a solid vet.

How is he compared to other Kings players? Who has the most shots on Kings team?
