Just their approach to 6v5 is infuriating because when it's time to throw the kitchen sink to get the tying goal they see it as a time to globetrot

If we played a 6v5 like teams play 5v5 against us, we'd always get the tying goal. You're right. 3 minutes to just throw it all out there and you can't even do that. What a frustrating stretch of losses.

Still waiting on a shred of accountability from this team instead of them lying to themselves and the fans that they are working hard to get through it

I think we all are, but accountability is what they do on the ice, not what they say afterwards - that's just lip service.
If Mika comes out and says "yeah I've been shit, the whole team isn't doing the basics right and we need to stop being whiny bitches', but then they all half-arse it next game that's not accountability.
These statements aren't for the fans, they're because they contractually have to say something and most of them have no idea how to express themselves because they missed a lot of social development time to work on their slapshot

Hot take, but Panarin doesn't bother me.

He's done nothing but push this team in the right direction 5v5 in his time here.

If we do change things up, and you said "hey this guy has value and can kickstart us," I'd be open to it, but he's not a cancer.

Zibanejad, Trouba, Lindgren, and low-key Miller are the guys that we can't even put on the ice.

The Rangers sat Ryan McDonagh before they traded him for how long with the excuse that he was injured only for us to see him suit up for TB the first game after he was acquired? Couldn’t Truble get the same treatment and we name Panarin Captain immediately? He’s actually been commendable with his battle level all season.

Even if he did, he'll go back to it the first time somebody farts.

NHL coaches just aren't willing to upset what "worked" for a team previously. They don't want to go back into the market after being fired having done anything the last guy didn't do, because then that's on them.

A big part of deleting this vet core, for me, is getting those combinations completely off the menu.

Not that I care anymore, and whoever gets traded, it's whatever, but there was no reason to break up Lindgren and Trouba, as bad as that sounds. Also lol at the numbers without either on the ice.

They haven’t been accountable on the ice or in the media so I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make.

It's pretty telling that he was the only player from the "core" that spoke up after that St. Louis loss.

I've had my issues with his playoff performance in the past, but at least he produces during the RS and looks like he's giving a shit.

You must mean work on their cross-ice passes as it seems no one on this team ever wants to shoot the puck. And it's worse when they have the extra man: pass-pass-pass-pass-pass-pass-more pass-let's try one more pass.

The original point was only that Mika wasn't 'blaming' anything, it then devolved into 'accountability' from there.
I guess my main point is, post game interviews (and pretty much all sports media) is pretty bloody useless and shouldn't be read into too much
