Quick isn't going to get any better if you keep sitting him. He needs to get in the groove. That's the way he will start to feel better.
If he's not playing well there's no reason to play him, especially when Bernier's playing some of the best hockey of his career. The Kings are trying to win games. Not nurture Quick.

So ironic that on a night when Carter scores a goal where the puck changes direction 18 times before going in, the Kings have zero puck luck beyond that.

Stars suck, TV guys seem to think they gutted out a great road victory, but I didn't see it that way....Kings beat themselves.

Oh and not going to say anything beyond the fact that NHL reffing is a joke, but every NHL fan already knows that.

On to Saturday, expecting an annoyed Kings team.....will be at the game!

The Kings didn't sign Quick a long contract to sit him. This game wasn't even Quicks fault. Come back to me when it is.

Awww poo!!! The Stars got into our zone a little bit too easily for my liking. We gave up two or three outnumbered attacks tonight but that's two or three more than we usually give up. Also Quick is flopping and overplaying too many shots! Maybe that back problem last year calmed down his play so he didn't over react to shots. Something to think about.

More than two or three.....hell, I counted two in the first 5 minutes of the game.

F*@#$ you Ryan ! ;)

Quick should play Saturday and Monday. Then JB plays at Phoenix on Tuesday.

The last thing Quick needs is to sit for 2 of 3 games and then get thrown in on the back end of a back to back and have to carry the load. He's started two games the last week and a half. That's not good.

This isn't the preseason. Nobody is gonna baby Quick and play him until he finds his groove. Points are crucial right now. You either give the team a chance to win or don't play. And Bernier has clearly outplayed Quick to this point.

No heart. No grit. No character. Blow it up... ;)

I agree.

The race for the playoffs is too tight to let quick have adjustment games, he really needs to train hard and get back in his groove at practice. Bernier needs to start next.

Not particularly. He wasn't very busy and didn't face many difficult shots other than what ended up in the net.

Lehtonen, on the other hand, gave his team a chance to win.

Well, I disagree. 3 of those goals were complete breakdowns by defense. He isn't going to stand on his head every game.

Right. Just let me know when a game is actually his fault.
Why does it matter? It's clear he's not on his game. As I said earlier, he is over committing and flopping around way too much. He looks like the Quick of 3 years ago when they were still trying to rein him in. There isn't time in a shortened season when pretty much every team in the West is battling for a playoff spot to let him play his way out of this.

Bernier wasn't exactly stellar in his last start.

I didn't say he had to, but you said he gave them a chance to win tonight when he really didn't do anything positively or negatively to affect their chances. He was just out there.

I thought JB was great against Detroit but lots of people didn't. Besides that we have JB against Nashville who can't do jack to go on.

Don't really think either goaltender is performing to the degree we need them to. We need consistent play, stop the pucks, limit rebounds because our D isn't clearing them very well.

I disagree. There were tons of defensive breakdowns but that doesn't mean he shouldn't be making some of those saves. The Eakin goal is a perfect example.

Even on the fourth goal, that wasn't his fault, but what the hell was Quick doing flat on his stomach on the other side. No need to be so aggressive. Quick usually bails out his defense; he just hasn't been doing that this year.

You play the hot hand. Bernier had a great game against Calgary earlier in the year and has been the better goaltender as of late.
