couldn't agree more with your thoughts about Spooner. he has never done anything for me, and I'd love to see him traded and give his spot to a kid like Cehlarik. Spooner is never going to cut it in Boston. Lacks the defensive awareness, below average at faceoff circle, and has no physical aspect to his game. He's usually a one trick pony, but even that trick has gone missing this season. This isn't on Claude.

The blame lies with both parties.

Like it or not, it's the coaches job to find a way to get the most out of his players. Put them in the best position succeed. Find out what makes a player tick and motivate them to do what's asked and improve.

In this case, Claude has failed to do so. That part is on him.

yea reading those articles says it all.

Spooner needs to get out of Boston.

Sad that we are gonna be left with Riley ****ing Nash as our 3rd line center...because you know..he brings such an amazing defensive awareness like on the second goal last night, completely blowing coverage in front leaving man wide open.

I think this team needs more offensively skilled one trick ponies because I don't see too many other guys on the roster who are able to even bring an OUNCE of offense...but yet their roster spots are safe.

don't dump Hayes to make room for Celharik...noo no what we need to do is trade off Spooner so we can make room for Celharik to play the 3rd line with Nash n Schaller/Hayes! That will totally create offense.

I somehow am getting into defending Spooner's play yet I think he has been awful so far.

Maybe I'm just frustrated to see offense n skilled players run out of town while 1 dimensional defense first guys who can't create ANY offense stick around.

I wanted Spooner to do good and never got the over the top criticism, everyone trying to mold him into a player he isnt.

I'd rather have one trick pony Spooner on my team over Beleskey, Hayes, Nash, Schaller, Acciari.

At least Spooners one trick can create offense (fully admit it isn't happening this year, but same can be said for everyone not Moore, Pasta, Marchand).

Looking forward to bruins having more 1 goal games!!

and for the record...NOTHING that Nash has done has warranted earning the 3rd line center spot. Spooner was on a super short lease from the beginning and he lost it very fast and Clode hasn't looked back.

Spooner has major flaws like ive mentioned in my previous rambling posts....I'd rather see Spooner playing the position he is more comfortable at and has seen some success at than see Riley Nash somehow "earn" the spot and provide absolutely nothing.

Oh well. I guess the fans are right...what this team needs more of is defensive minded physical forwards, not those offensively skilled one trick ponies.
