Might aswell leave Kuraly and Robinson/Olivier on the ice with Gaudreau. Atleast they have some puck control. Better than Larsen trying to force Jenner+Nyquist into working because hes too scared Johnson might actually do good there lose confidence or not pay enough attention to detail with them.
Fixed.

Chinakhov deserves more ice time.

Probably a stupid thought, but I sometimes wonder if coaches are afraid a young player might start out enjoying too much success that they’ll become harder to coach because of it.….probably not real but it’s often in the back of my mind.

Maybe but that seems like it would be a bigger problem for the coach and not the player. If you start coaching based of off made up scenarios vs reality that seems like a major mental weakness. I dont know Kent personally obviously but he seems like hes pretty down to earth. Those top of the draft kids are used to being the dominant player on the ice and usually character concerns show themselves early like Yakupov for example.

I say show some confidence in the kid and put him in a position to succeed. If he falls off do what a coach is supposed to do and coach/make adjustments.

Gaudreau has a hard time making a line of Jenner-Nyquist look good, how does anyone expect Johnson to shine on a 3rd/4th line with a revolving door of linemates.

Yeah it boggles the mind, truly. Gaudreau and Johnson are the two best playmakers on the team, stubbornly keeping them separated isn't bringing any results so why not try them together. I don't know how Johnson would lose confidence by playing with another high IQ player. Give it a try Lars! When Laine returns you can go back to Gaudreau-Jenner-Laine if you really want. I don't even know how many of us care about wins anymore, we just want to see something exciting on the ice.

Down 2, super excited to see Lars send out Gaudreau-Jenner-Nyquist followed by Olivier-Kuraly-Robinson for the rest of the game.

The tank is on.

We only have played 6 games on the road winning only one. This is our 14th home game. Needless to say, we will be even worse once we start going on multiple away games trips

Didn’t Sorokin just shut the Oilers out ? Is he going streaking on us ?

Yeah smells like a Sorokin shutout.

Also as much as I hate hockey fighting, gotta say Olivier is doing his job. And getting Anders Lee out of the game for 5 mins is worth something I guess.

Eh im just tired of his uncreative scared coaching. I liked Larsen a year ago but now he always looks lost, never adjusts and just acts like his vets will save the day.
Ill be glad when we have a new coach. Im well past being over the Larsen experiment.

Yep…you called it! But the rabble is happy because Olivier gives them their fight.

Lars is about as creative as a kid with three primary color crayons.
