When Sweden lost to belarus in 2002 one of the newspapers had the team in these bonnie and clyde like pictures with the caption "traitors" or something like that.

I mean cmon, you think fans of other teams don't do that **** when they lose a huge game in a sport that means a lot to them?

I mean, most of the times you wouldn't even see it because you live in Canada, how are you going to hear about the hard time Indian players get if they lose the cricket championship to pakistan?

You know better then this.
What should I look up to find the Sweden one?

Had just one ambition for this game - win, lose, whatever, just get through it without anymore injuries.
...
So of course Parik gets hurt.

Just no injuries was all I wanted... didn't care if Canada won by 5. Even predicted a 5 goal win. I don't blame the refs. I don't care about the score. Canada looks great... I hope they do well. But to review:

We lost our best winger, Lauko, 6 seconds into our first game against Russia
We lost our best Centre (player) at the end of the 2nd period to the States. Jenik.
Somewhere Dostal got hurt and he was our starting goalie.
No idea when our 2C got hurt, Sir, but he's out too
Now we've lost our 2nd goalie in the first period

Malik is a good goalie and him playing itsn't that upsetting but who comes in if he gets hurt?

We are missing our 3 best players, backup goalie and have 10 guys on the bench.

I'm pleased that Canada is winning but these are somewhat unfortunate circumstances. I certainly hope that there aren't any more injuries for the Czechs.

You don't want someone swimming on the ice after the 5-0 goal? Where have I seen that before?

Well when you're 19 and your country has only won the tournament once in the last 16 years, I suppose even a 5-0 goal is exciting.

Calling what I see. I'm aware of the possibility of having my own bias and trying to account for it. I don't think Canada would have accepted what Andersson did like Sweden did.

I don't know, I remember it being a news story when it happened.

Here’s a reference to it.

The newspaper Svenska Dagbladet designed a fake stamp with a picture of Salo covering his face mask as the puck bounced off his head and into the net. The postmark declared: "Salt Lake City 2002 -- Fiasco."

Tabloid Aftonbladet called it "the day of shame," while Expressen showed Salo asking for forgiveness.

The players, including many from the National Hockey League, were pictured one-by-one in Expressen with their salaries listed under a headline "Guilty : Betrayed their country”
