Slovakia has looked very good. It's been said that this is the best Slovakian team in years. Seem to have some depth. No real top-end talent though. Slovak goalies generally get drafted after a good WJC. Hlavaj will see his draft stock rise if he keeps this up.

This US team isn't that good. Might sound harsh, but we have a lack of good wingers. Coaches took the mediocre older players instead of the draft-eligible players who could've helped here. Finland takes Kakko, Russia takes Podkolzin, we take NCAA grinders instead of Turcotte, Zegras, Kaliyev, Boldy, Caufield. Goaltending decision was questionable. We left our two best right-shots at home.

Not a good team. I think we could medal, but I doubt we are good enough to win gold.

Agreed 100% Turcotte and Zegras for sure.

A player like Wahlstrom wouldn't have made the Canadian team with his struggles this season. We rely on him to be one of our best wingers for this team. Shows our lack of winger depth this year.

Aside from like a two minute stretch there, just not a lot going on the US offensively. If the power play doesn't improve, they'll regret not taking a guy like Reilly Walsh.

Right, especially on defense. Second best dman offensively is Mikey Anderson and I've been underwhelmed by him so far.
