J. Hughes, Wahlstrom, and Farabee played last season together. All of Jack's time with the U18 last season was spent on this line. They also played the U18 Worlds together.

They've probably spent more time together on a line than any set of three forwards in the tournament.

For the record, they are on the same line tonight.

Yeah, wrong positioning and nobody covered for him. Poor play through the neutral zone all around for the forwards and Miller.

Cates was beaten positionally backchecking but I think that one was more on Miller getting too aggressive.

Been happening all game. Forwards are all missing assignments and not covering for the defense.

But they can play on the wing. And I also named three other natural wingers.

USA should stop giving preference to NCAA grinders. What does Cates or Cockerill bring that those players don't? Even guys like Wahlstrom, Farabee, O'Brien, all of whom were picked in the first round, don't have the best cases to have made this team. None have been good this season.

If need be, take a younger team. Finland's three best players a couple of years ago when they won were draft-eligibles.

Mmh, I thought they should've brought Kaliyev. Boldy maybe. The others would play LW I assume, unless they play switch.
 
Slovaks playing so much better as a team. USA looks unorganized in comparison.

Hard to fault the goalie on a 3-on-1, but that goal was a weak shot, right through the fiver.
 
If the US wants to get back in their game, Q.Hughes better be out there a lot. Drove most of the offense in the 2nd.
