Who else do you want there? You all complain JT is too slow and leaks goals 5 on 5. But then you want to put him with Nylander and Knies who aren't the best defensively. That line would bleed goals.

Kerfoot is at least fast and can win puck/board battles. I understand why he's on that line. Not to mention Kerfoot and Nylander have historically been two of our better playoff performers.

SO clear to me that the most important lynchpin to team success is getting Tavares going 100% with Marner . . . then after that, you put Matthews with the best available option for him which is Nylander. Then fill in the blanks with whoever.

From your numbers, that means a top 2 lines with
Matty - Willy
Marner - Johnny T
is a combined 62 GF, 25 GA . . . that's an insanely great ratio!!! No brainer!

I have a feeling this is 90% because of the need to satisfy Matthews' wishes to play with Marner.

I like the look of the 3rd line, it will be very important to whether or not the Leafs win this game going away, I think theyre going to be seeing a lot of Maroon, BelleMare and Corey Perry so Knies will have to be on his toes and ready to take advantage of Perry's lack of foot speed, for Acciari it's the same thing bury Maroon w/speed. ROR should win the F/O game.

By usage, Schenn was the least important Leaf D at 14 minutes.. I didn't think he was our worst D but if that is all we have him penciled in for then we better play with the lead... I can understand why you want a heavy with the likes of Paul, Perry, Maroon, Jeannot etc... If we trail... where does the skill and speed come from to get the puck moving up ice and layers into the attack? Rielly....that's it... very very unbalanced.

Keefe said it wasn't nerves and he wasn't sure why the team started like it did (it was obviously nerves). Also the morning of the game he said they try to treat it like a 'regular game day', which is strange because the magnitude of this series is so huge. The team needs to be jacked up and realize what's at stake.

He doesn't seem like someone who has a pulse on what's going on.

you think they need Shelly to jack them up, they should get pumped every Friday when they get the auto-deposit notification from their bank. As pro athletes they should want to win every game because that is all they've ever wanted their entire lives was winning and success.

I'm reminded of Dubas using Keefe and legendary in the same sentence after last season. Makes me think we don't have anyone in the organization that's capable of addressing the media without sounding like a moron.

and I'm reminded of Shelly having zero control when Dubas trotted him out in front of the press to apologize for using the wrong words which were upsetting for the MVP to hear after a game in which he nor the team played well. So I really hope he didn't do that again!
