Other than the Coyotes, who has a worse defence and goaltending on paper?

Game is not played on paper though

You’re opinion is baseless and deserves to be belittled. It is a one game narrative and much too soon to be playing gotcha. We suck amd we will be bottom 5.

It's not baseless. You're ignoring the context and then spinning in back as baseless.

It's not a one game narrative solely. Proper comprehension is lacking but carry on... fun for you to belittle.

Bottom 5-10 or bottom 8-12 range. It's a guess just like yours. All I can say comfortably is we are in the bottom 3rd group of the NHL.

The D will eventually get exposed. The veterans suck, and half of them have basically no experience at all. Also can’t rely on Suzuki/Caufield to score all our goals. If we finish outside the top 5, it’s because some of the young guys stepped up in a big way.
Yeah no way we finish outside top 5 right?

I mean almost all the teams in the league this year are competitive at the least. Only dog shit teams are Arizona and Chicago. Maybe Seattle and San Jose too but not nearly as bad as the other two lol.

Habs don't look as bad as i thought but I'm still predicting #3-5 draft position.

#1-2: ARI/CHI
#3-5: MTL/SEA/SJS

Lmao, proper comprehension that only Habs Halifax can appreciate. Well-done, Pat yourself on the back I guess.

Columbus, Washington and Nashville may compete as well due to incompetent coaches.

There’s what MSL says and then there’s what he does.

If he really wanted Dach at center, why did Dach only take 2 faceoffs last game? If Dach is to play center tonight, why does a vet like Monahan need reps at center — should it not be the other way around?

MSL did the same thing with Drouin but painted a different picture about what he claimed was really going on.

This might just be MSL throwing the media off his tracks. We’ll see how Dach is deployed tonight.

Monahan took the most faceoff last game with 15 and ended up with 60%.
I think Dach will take his strong side to practice but Monahan kind of earn his place there.

Having watched some Ar, Chi, Sea. I can confirm Seattle is improved, Montreal are not worse than last season, and Ar/Chi seem in an overt tank job. Much worse.

I feel like it mostly depends on the game. The game was tight vs the TML. If they get a 3 goals lead, we might see different things.

I think all those rosters are too good for bottom 5 despite bad coaching.

And what if Josi gets a season ending injury next week?

Chicago. Allen is much better than Mrazek and Jones has always been really overrated. Their D is shallow as hell and don't have the higher upside D prospects the Habs do.

The first game of the season for the Hawks came against the Avs - arguable the fastest team in the league, both individually and team - and the Hawks dressed S.Jones, Jack Johnson, Connor Murphy, Alex Regula, Filip Roos, and Jarred Tinordi. Murphy, Regula, Roos and Tinordi are big and slow ... against MacKinnon, Makar and company it was quite the show. The 5-1 loss would have been much worse if Mrazek hadn't stood on his head.

The Hawks have some d-prospects that COULD be pretty good but none that are sure fire top pairing guys. Korchinski has a chance but his realistic ceiling is more of a solid 2nd pairing guy.

There's a big difference between 8-12 and top 5. You are basically saying nothing. Last year:

1. Montreal - 55 pts
2. Arizona - 57 pts
3. Seattle - 60 pts
4. Philly - 61 pts
5. New Jersey - 63 pts

8. Detroit - 74 pts
9. Buffalo - 75 pts
10. Anaheim - 76 pts
11. San Jose - 77 pts
12. Columbus - 81 pts

Saying they'll finish bottom 1/3 is a meaningless statement, it's almost as pointless as saying you think they'll miss playoffs. Maybe they finish 5th or 6th? Possible.

I don't have a lot of respect for Washington's team right now. They aren't what they used to be. They're my dark horse to finish bottom 10.

However, we are playing Montembeault, soooooooo :help:

I Don't know about bottom 10, but I think the Habs will be bad, and pretty much anyone should beat them in a b2b regardless especially when Monty is in net.

I hate to say it's a must win at game 3 but losing to the young and depleted Habs team on a back to back to start 0-3 would have to raise some alarm bells, and I just don't see it happening at all.

He is playing Center which is where he belongs. He is a great puck carrier and playing him and Suzuki on the same line would put 2 similar playmakers on the same line.
There's no doubt that Dach will play center -- they wouldn't have traded for him to play wing.

However, they're not having him practice at Center right now which probably says that they're trying to bring him along slowly, especially that they're playing him on a line with an experienced centerman that he can learn from.

He isn't taking faceoffs but I think he is still playing Center quite a bit.

He only took two against the Leafs. But, that's OK, there's likely a plan behind it.

What counts is how he evolves over a significant string of games.
