Actually Marty was saying last night they're trying to get away from the man to man thing and play more of a zone D hybrid, clearly it's still a work in process.

Most of these players have been exposed to four quadrant zone defense since they were Atom aged. Man to man was on its way out when Marty was Atom aged.

I dunno, four young defenceman and Mike Matheson are a bigger factor IMO. As far as I can tell, the structure in place is fairly straightforward and efficient enough. Different than it was last year. If our guys made more consistent good decisions and won puck battles, we wouldn't be talking about it.

I disagree, we are getting outshot and out-chanced by a fair margin, I see nothing different.
