The NHL app is officially useless since the “Upgrade” last month. I can give an entire seminar on the list of problems with it.

It is soooo bad that even the hockey guy on YouTube has said it “Sucks” multiple times. And I don’t think I’ve ever heard him actually say something sucks from his own point of view before that. So you know it really sucks if he’s saying more than once that it sucks.

ESPN’s app is clearly better now than the new shit NHL app AND I can actually embed goal videos on it, which is no longer an option or possible with the NHL app, nor even their website!

Yeah, the ESPN app is decidedly better, except for Taylor Swift being the top story too often.

Funny thing is Clarke, Mukhamadullin, Edvinsson and Nemec all should play for their teams. And Faber for example and Luke Hughes looks solid for their start. Teams have a lot of one way signed vets to play their young defensemen.

Yeah, not getting why Muk and Edvinsson aren’t in the NHL. I think arguments are different with teams that have playoff aspirations, so I’m giving NJ and LA a bit more leeway.

Taking a friend of mine to his first hockey game tonight. He is Puerto Rican, has never been to a ice rink in his life, and knows almost nothing about the sport. All the hype around the team as reached him and he asked me to take him to a game. Only player he knows is Jack so thats the jersey I'm lending him

Agreed. I was actually expecting more given how packed it was. I think a lot of us could see Detroit carrying play for long periods of time, so there was a lot of nervous energy.

People used to do this exact same thing with Henrique and I used to ask what difference does it make when you score your goals as long as you score them.

I have a whole mental list of critiques people would make of certain players that they would never make for others and from time to time I like to point them out.

Just picked up a pair of tickets for tonight's game. Taking one kid tonight, the other on Monday to work around their sports schedules and take advantage of some nice ticket deals at the start of the season.

Taking a friend of mine to his first hockey game tonight. He is Puerto Rican, has never been to a ice rink in his life, and knows almost nothing about the sport. All the hype around the team as reached him and he asked me to take him to a game. Only player he knows is Jack so thats the jersey I'm lending him

Food last night looked improved but their beer selection still sucks. I could only find two IPAs and one was Goose Island (gross) and one local one that has a crap score on Untapped. Two years ago they had a couple craft beer stands that had a lot of solid local IPAs, shame they got rid of them.

I drank crap beer all day. I got there around 3:30...I can't do IPA's for 7 hours .

When I went last season, they had some decent IPAs, but you had to hunt around the concourse to find stands that had anything other than domestic lagers.

Maybe that has changed, which would be disappointing.

I can drink IPAs for 7 hours. Driving home afterward is another matter.

The ideal situation was when I visited my brother in Boston for the game there in April. We went day drinking all afternoon, kept going through the game, and took the T back to his place while absolutely drunk as penguins.

Before the Pats - Falcons Super Bowl a few years ago I started drinking Kane's Overhead early afternoon at my neighbors house, I think I had about 8 of them (equivalent of drinking about 20 Budweisers) by the time it was halftime. I woke up at 230am in my bed and the last I remember was the beginning of the 3rd quarter and Falcons winning big, imagine my surprise and horror to find out the Pats came back to win.

That was the last time I day drank IPAs.

So I had to go get Rocky Road ice cream that my wife enjoys sometimes. I found a strawberry shortcake gelato. Layers of strawberry ice cream, strawberry jam, and a crumbly crust layer. I was in heaven. At my age if I eat too much of it I'll actually be in heaven.
