I thought he definitely looked better than last year. Solid defensively but unfortunately his one prime chance to use his shot got deflected. I don’t think he’ll be a guy that generates a high volume of chances, but we need him to finish at a high rate to offset that.

I think you are right.

People used to do this exact same thing with Henrique and I used to ask what difference does it make when you score your goals as long as you score them.

I have a whole mental list of critiques people would make of certain players that they would never make for others and from time to time I like to point them out.

Two things, first you can look at random stats for random stretches for Haula and me and him would look the same on paper.

Second, I would rather watch Nico play and realize he is an insanely important part of this team instead of whatever stats you decide to pull.

i went to look up how many shots but apparently you just can’t do that from the game scores page on the NHL app right now? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway’s it’s been one game and even guys who score one goal every two games on average are streaky in reality. And the Hischier line is gonna spend most games at home playing against the other team’s best players. Let’s at least wait like 10 games until we’re worried about everyone’s goal and point paces.

The NHL app is officially useless since the “Upgrade” last month. I can give an entire seminar on the list of problems with it.

It is soooo bad that even the hockey guy on YouTube has said it “Sucks” multiple times. And I don’t think I’ve ever heard him actually say something sucks from his own point of view before that. So you know it really sucks if he’s saying more than once that it sucks.

ESPN’s app is clearly better now than the new shit NHL app AND I can actually embed goal videos on it, which is no longer an option or possible with the NHL app, nor even their website!

Your first statement was 25, which included playoffs and a game this year?

If you are going to turn into a stat watcher and shunning people who watch, at least use advanced stats so when some refutes it you can say "I'm sorry you don't understand," to end the argument.

He played with speed in all situations. Had a really good defensive play where he backchecked, caught up to the Detroit player, and then stripped the puck and gained control.
I didn't like his passing. The vision was there but the passes were either off target, intercepted, or sent with a speed that the receiver wasn't expecting and not instantly controlled.
Had some good looks on shots with high velocity, including one that got deflected and nearly took Meier's head off.

Overall, play without puck was good, play with puck was inconsistent.

Negativity is one thing but this stuff is trolling at this point, I mean really now - complaining about Nico’s goal production at the end of last season one game into this season when we’re 1-0?! Time to knock off the fishing
