Anybody still think our top line is gonna be 1 of the most dominant lines in the NHL?

Saad was/is seen as just as big of a factor to make a difference as Murray was.

Where's Johansen?

Where's the Johansen hate??

He has 2 pts in 2 games. Joey's been his normal talented, bit loafy self. And for the record, I still think our top line is going to be a top ten line in the NHL this year.

Johansen has 1 and 1 so far against one of the best D-pairing in the league. I'll take 82 points out of him.

He's not the problem.

Seem to be ok defensively the last 16 games of last season. Let's see how the first month plays out before we make statements of how bad our d is , or isn't .

You can be forgiven for not changing your opinion willy-nilly based on 2 games. But this is the same opinion I've had about our D after, during, and long before our little win streak. I've seen no reason to change my view.

We were bottom 5 in goals against last season. Those 16 games aren't necessarily a tell. The argument can just as easily be made that once the pressure of playoffs was gone, they loosened up and played better.

The defense is a tremendous problem. It will be all season.

Maybe this squad just doesn't match up well against the Rangers? Their top line against our third line is no contest. We'll see soon enough.

Certainly in top tier, with the Rangers being one of the best defensive teams in the league. Their top pairing maybe not be Keith/Seabrook, but it's damn good. Not too many are better.

I concur. One of, if not THE, best defensive corps in the league.

Ranger fan here...havent read your thread or anything, but i gotta say..the Jackets look VERY VERY good...the Rangers were pretty fortunate to come away with 2 wins...thats our goalie..hes been doing that since he came into the NHL.

You guys are a sure fire playoff team barring another barrage of injuries. id be very happy with what im seeing if i was a jackets fan.

And Prout can hit and clear bodies. Neither of them skate very well and both have huge holes in their game.

That's true, but I'll take the guy that can actually complete a pass and handle the puck. Prout's breakout passes end up on the tape of the other team, and he can't keep it in the offensive zone.

Not saying Cotton is a huge upgrade over Prout, but I'd much rather take the guy that can handle the puck than the one that kills momentum every time he touches it. Prout's ability to hit is great, but it's not like it's something we're in desperate need of, and I wouldn't really say he's very effective at "clearing bodies."

Could be worse: we could be Philly.

Another loss, two loss in a row.
Richards confidently goes to my forecast, 4-9-1 start season.

Right remedy ( sometimes) for our superstoicism. March with Smirnoff :sarcasm:

Start is not so iridescent as waited. Life can't be easy, if life is easy we must complicate it. "Grow your stoicism through self made complications", more realistic motto. March with Us is simply devaluation of our Karma. Too plane simple, need more tragical, heroic, archetypical like " Let's die again, 5 line"

I sure many of us (5 liners) works hard, often without weekends, without rest. I can't say same about Mr.Tyutin after this childish foolish pass in own zone, f.. murder of team momentum:thumbd:. ( I can't ask more from young D if top4 veteran D plays so terribly). And first game.. 3 and 4 goals not 100% on Bob. Saad boy must play more responsibly in own zone.

Need young blood, waiting for Rychel and Yevenko, more passion and aggression, more young energy.

The only thing that kept the Rangers in those games was Lundqvist, a shaky Bob and defensive turnovers. They're getting a ton of chances, lundqvist is the only thing thats kept them off the scoresheet
