Richards made the decision to put Cotton and Prout together as a pair. That was a horrible coaching decision. Golo is a much better defender than either of those two. Yet in today's Dispatch, TR continues to express faith in that third pairing. I think that is bad coaching, period. The defensive inadequacies of those two are well know and to put them together is bad coaching.

I also think the decision to put Nick, Joey and Saad together on one line is a bad move. Makes us very easy to defend against.

The mere idea of putting Borque on the second line is laughable. What a joke!!! Meanwhile Calvert is demoted to the fourth line?

All of those are bad roster decisions made by the coach, not Jarmo.

First line didn't seem very easy to defend against in the preseason.

Look, I understand its the popular thing to do right now to pile on Richards and call for his head. I admit, I am not a fan of the guys tactics either, but damn its game 2. Can we wait at least until game 10 to call for his head? (If needed)

We were 5 minutes away from splitting the weekend home and away with probably the best team in the East.

We choked, lets move on and take a deep breathe. This is a good team, this is a playoff team.

HCTR is the weak link here. I realize it's Game 3, but he needs to own up to his mistake of putting these two defenders together. Golo played well last year and the two playing ahead of him were healthy scratches because he was outplaying them. Just saying!

If we're going to take HCTR to task for tinkering with what worked at the end of last season, then we also need to take GMJK to task for not icing the exact same roster as finished the season, too.

GMJK added Saad and Campbell and I think all would say that those two players are better than Dano and Letestu. Having said that, maybe Dano stirred the drink for the Hartnell, Wenneberg. The D pairings are different from the end of last year. Savard is not with Johnson, Golo not with Murray and Tyutin not with Prout/Cotton. That's the coach's decision. Those pairs were responsible for good D and wins.

My point is that if "what worked when we were good at the end of last season" is the sole measuring stick, then it should apply across the board. I'm pretty sure "March With Us" was not the marketing slogan during that streak to close last season either. I blame marketing.

Thank you.

Judging a hockey team based on a few minutes of bad play over the first two games of a season is the same as saying a golfer is no good because he missed a few cuts in a row. Jordan Spieth missed two cuts in a row (the two before the end of the FedEx Cup playoffs) and then went on to win the Tour Championship and win the FedEX Cup and regain his #1 World Ranking.

The sky is not falling. CBJ will be 2-2 by Wednesday midnight.

I see your point but the D is the same deck as the end of last year. That is the only part of the team that could be employed the way it was during the streak. To not go back and see if that combination of pairs would work again seems a bit foolish to me. Although I do agree on the marketing.

Bob is being "employed" in the same way he was in the spring, but he sucks now.

Tyutin-Prout was not responsible for good D and wins. They were bad.

Golo was good though, TR has got to put him in.

You're missing a certain 18+ min a night player that plays both on either PP unit and TOP PK minutes. He also plays a position that IMO he was almost solely responsible for the idea that we WERE "deep" at.

I'd take Anisimov and Letestu right about now.

I don't disagree with you. Veteran leadership is something we lost along with their play on the ice.
