Wings fan coming in peace and saying good game. I thought the disallowed SO goal could've gone either way. Bad break for you guys in a very winnable game. I feel like we may have some more close ones in the near future!

Yeah, good game. I think Cam's disallowed goal was the right call but its what happens sometimes. Good luck to your boys this year! (Minus against us. ;))

I was THIS CLOSE to Craig Patrick tonight. Could have said hello if I wanted to, but all that kept running through my mind (to say to him) was "we could have gotten more for Jagr." Glad I didn't! ;)

P.S. I was a Pens fan before the CBJ came to town.

I thought you had an NHL background.... whatever.... had the Jackets won this game in a second SO folks would be talking SC.... (maybe)... ;)

It's just one game, the next one they must win in OT, I'm growing tired of shootouts... life is tuff eh...

JBum has the right attitude. 3 of 4 points in the first two games is a good result. This team works their butts off and never quits.

TBF about Umberger, there's a player similar to him who's also been playing like complete **** out of the gate - Burrows. Both play a fundamentally blue-collar game but haven't faced real competition for 2/3 of a year. Like Burr, RJ will heat up soon enough.

Change the wording around a bit to reflect paying more for him and it applies to the Blue Jackets, too. ;)

Ohio?!?!
Finally got back home, here's some things that are sticking in my mind:

-I love JD speeches, straight and to the point.
-The first half was terrible! So many penalties.
-Calvert is amazing. I love his hustle.
-Bobs is amazing. I really felt like we would have got blown out if it wasn't for him. Also, I thought he did his part in the shootout, he deserved a win... but we can't bleeping score.
-Johansen was good. Atkinson was good.
-I love Wiz's shot from the point.
-I think we still need to work on our chemistry.
-I really want Umberger to get it going.
-I agree with you guys that we need to roll the fourth line more, and that Moore and Aucoin need to play more as well.

I was really worried about this game, I figured Detroit was gonna rebound(which they did), and we were gonna get blown out. Coming back from a two goal deficit shows a lot of this team's character is well.
Let's hope we can continue the effort, I think we just need guys to get better chemistry, and get back into NHL level shape.

The only negative I have is Aucoin. Seemed to have a few terrible turnovers. Other than that, I feel we played pretty well. We didn't get the win but the team play was pretty spectacular. It's odd... I haven't enjoyed a Jackets loss in a while feeling that the team gave it it's all... Tonight felt like the whole team was on board and aiming for one goal. I hope the team gels and continues this. Even if we lose a lot, this kind of play is enjoyable. Almost like the first few years of the team...

I think this game showed the benefit of having guys who played ruing the lockout. Our best players (especially in the third, when legs start getting heavy) were Atkinson(AHL), Calvert(AHL), Prospal(O2 Extraliga), Anisimov(KHL) and Johansen(AHL). What do they have in common? they all played during the lockout(also all of them were pretty impressive too!). Heck the Wings tying goal was scored by Datsyuk(KHL)

Just remember that Detroit did it with skill not with physicality so tell your big guys to take it easy on us ... but seriously, we injure easily:(

anyone surprised Colaiacovo is apparently out for weeks now after what looked like a routine hit?

Yeah I'd say it seems his bones are made of cardboard, but cardboard actually takes effort to break

Bob was stellar, RJ looked like a thief for the money he'll actually be getting, and the announcing was fantastic.....really reminds you how bad Rimer and Davidge are

I agree but I was disappointed that Doc & Enzo didn't show up. I love how Emerick can make anything sound exciting.

I grew tired of Emerick through the playoffs, "hits the post off the Shhhhhotttt". I dont get into the over the top announcers like the Pens, Sabres guys.....I thought last night was the best broadcast game of any Jackets game i've ever heard.

Agree that RJ was terrible, just terrible. And he is wearing an "A"? He played terrible for 85% of last year, too. This is not a good trend.

I also did not understand why Anisimov got no PP time. He and Cam are our two best offensive weapons and he gets zip on the PP?

I thought most of the 1st period was absolutely terrible by the jackets. Score could have easily been 2 or 3 to nothing. Couple of shots off the post, couple other nice stops by Bob. Seemed like the same old Jackets with little energy.
That changed early in the 2nd.
Both goalies were giving up some big rebounds.
Still amazing to watch the difference on the power plays of both teams. Detroit seems to be effortless, while the CBJ struggle just to get a shot by a d-man and hopes for a rebound. Again on the scoresheet the CBJ power play worked but just seeing how much of a struggle they have, I don't have much faith that end of the year they will anywhere near the middle on the Power Play.
Again the Boys played much better the 2nd half of the game. Disappointed they couldn't hold on with the lead, but they looked very tired. We need the strong goal tending all year, without that we have no chance.

Finally Detroit fans are just a-holes. One lady behing me just complained all day long. How bad teh arena is, how uniformed the fans are. I mean how miserable must her life be, just to come to a game and complain all game long? I hate Dead Things and their fans.

I like this team. Goals against don't seem to get into Bob's head like they did Mason's in the past. Umberger is awful and Jack gave away some doozies in the third and OT. I think Cam was our best player last night, and Artie is exciting to watch even if it didn't pay off. Last night.

The arena review:
Scoreboard is a beauty.
ACA? Big deal in their own minds. I was directly across and below and didn't hear/ notice them at all.
Wings fans are Wings fans, but their numbers last night were manageable.
My son won a $100 gas card during intermission go-kart racing ( team OU oh-yeah!)
Still can't stand Mike Todd, but he seemed more subdued, less screechy last night.
I loved the intro of he Juniors fom Dublin. Classy, and a warm response from the fans.

I like this Cbj team, they haven't quit. Refreshing!

The thing that gets me about Dubinsky is how relatively passionless he's playing. Something did make him pick it up a bit in the 2nd, and he was better, but he's not the guy I watched play for the NYR.

Umby played another very casual game almost completely outside of the dots. It's shameful

Liked most everyone else most of the time. Love the battle level. Need to get in games quicker. Bob is bailing them out if these terrible starts. Need people harder on the puck - this got better as the game wore on.

Dubinsky has lulls, I agree. It was nicing seeing someone finally rough up Franzen in front of the net though. That was a nice head lock he had him in for like a 10 count. All I can think is that #17 isn't happy with the role he's been given. Hopefully it motivates him to show more. Anisimov on the other hand looks hyper motivated.

Love Bobrovsky's play. Love that this team hasnt quit in the 2 games this week after falling behind. And I also love my new seats and the people that surround us this year. We got some great families all around us.

Maybe I'm in homer mode but the officiating seemed terrrible for us last night.

Cam Atkinson undressed Howard and really sparked this come back (nice breakout from Joey on that one).

Pierre McGuire loves Cam Atkinson.

Calvert is making it impossible for Richards to rotate him out of the line up.

Our defense was poor last night, it could have been 3-0 at the end of the 1st.

The PP looks good, but we need consistent traffic in front of the net.

Bobrovsky sure looks good. Mason better bring his A game (when he gets a chance to show it).

RJ needs moved down to the bottom 6 until he gets back into game shape, he is clearly a step behind everyone else on the ice.

I don't care how many shots we continue to give up as long as we start to keep them to the perimeter and give up less quality chances. I don't think Bob will be letting in as many softies asMason..
