Has JVR really been that horrid 5 on 5? I genuinely hadn't noticed but got the hint when I've seen Lucic lining up on his line in place of him.

I will add- Going into the season I was concerned about the defensive side of the ice for a line with Zacha and Pasta on it. Adding a third guy who cant play in his own end certainly doesnt improve things.. Offensively he can definitely play with a Pasta caliber though.

He’s at 67% xGF% 5 on 5. Only Pasta is higher for the Bruins. But sure, yeah, rotting corpse. Is that a worse nickname than potato hands? Sure feels like it is.

not only that but Im sure we'll have excessive back to backs at some point.
Pretty sure this is by design for the most part. The NHL tends to start slow league-wide. First week of the season and there were 2 games each on Friday and Sunday nights. Between the NFL and the MLB Playoffs, October is always a dry month. They want more games later in the season when football is out of the way and the playoff races start picking up.

As a threesome together that have great fenwick and Corsi numbers…but it’s been very low event hockey. Only 2 shots for and 2 shots allowed in 13 minutes with 80% offensive zone starts. That shift with DeBrusk in for JVR at the end of the Nashville game where they controlled the puck in the offensive zone looked real real good. Worth a look. Can’t afford to have the Pasta line be a low event line. I would have been more than fine giving them more chance to gel, but it did look really good with DeBrusk, so why not give it a go. It’s game 3, so plenty of time for more trial and error.

It is a full blown insult to JVR but it is expected from someone who has admitted they only look at the box score.

I'm Team JVR.
I do more than just look at the box scores and have seen twice as much hockey as you.

Lol your takes are terrible. Did you watch any games so far or just the highlights like you usuall do. Weren’t the bruins losing 4-1 to the preds because you know their a bad team. I think most here know your post are a clown show. Lol
Sorry LOPey old pal, watched the games and the highlights and JVR is a total liability five on five and never should have been signed. No, not even signed for a tank.

To me at first glance it looks like getting more speed for the first line, paring Marchand with a playmaker, and seeing if Coyle and JVR have any chemistry.

JVR could really thrive with Coyle and Frederic working down low and getting pucks around the net. Before these first couple of games I would have been very concerned about puck transport, but Frederic looks like a different guy out there skating wise.

Kings and Ducks back to back is going to be tough
Kings 10:30 and the Ducks 8:30 start times

Not for nothing…

but screw the Kings and their 7:30/10:30 starts.

Sound silly, but there’s a big difference between going to bed around 12:50 a.m (10:00 start) and 1:20 a.m. (10:30 start).

I hope the B’s schedule them for a noon matinee someday.
