Yeah, we've got injuries, but come on! The 'Hawks have barely turned up tonight and we've not put them under any real pressure.

Off-topic, but I'm so tired of that Dobbs commercial.

The one with Jeff Finley, Brent Johnson, Jamal Mayers and the late Pavol Demitra in Blues' jerseys.

Pretty sure one of the guys is Pascal Rheaume too.

Just ridiculous. No one is going to associate your product as modern and desired if you have a commercial featuring players from 10 years ago.

Cole needs to clear the crease. What's he doing, fishing with Toews? That's ridiculous. Bench for him, that was just ridiculously apathetic on his part.

This is laughable. They are playing a very hard game and are playing it as well as they can, they are trying to extend their streak and have everything going for them. Try to pay attention, Ive never seen a team skate so hard in the regular season. STL didnt match it, gave up a fluke goal to start the game and thats all she wrote.

Fair enough, I'll disagree, but when discussing something as subjective as the presence of "extra gears", I could counter with something similarly quantifiable and say that the Blues players have more heart. Also, winning a cup does not make one a good player, there are plenty of phenomenal players who have never won a cup, so I don't think that is a valid criterion in saying someone is better. I agree that the Hawks have better top end talent, but I feel that, in a 7 game series, depth can counter that effectively.

Bleh this team is showing some massive heart this game. And "extra gears" is pretty much as excepted a term as any come playoff time. Every team has to have a few and some new player usually emerges every year.

Really? That kinda surprises me since the Blues have been pretty lazy over the past few weeks. I haven't had much hope in them lately at all.

When we had injuries last season (with Steen and Amac ironically) the team seemed to step it up a notch knowing that it would be tougher. They got more physical and were really agressive. I thought perhaps that may happen here. But it doesn't seem like the same Blues from last year.

Another hawks fan chiming in about their cup run....get over yourself
Yeah, once the streak ends, so will the immense effort they put forth every game to keep it going.

Streaks follow streaks. When they lose, teams will smell blood and they wont have the same motivation they do now. It'll happen, that's just common sense. They are one of the better teams in the league, no doubt, but they will take their licks soon.

Steen and McDonald aren't the difference here, poor offensive execution from, restricted to the perimeter, you're not going to beat many teams doing that. Blues have been doing this for awhile now. They're unwilling to go into the dirty areas in the middle to win.

Defensively, missed assignments is really what it's coming down to.

I think after what LA did in the playoffs, people need to realize that as long as you get into the playoffs, then the regular season isn't a huge deal.
