The Avs looked like they really missed EJ. Remember EJ alone blocked like Six shots last time the Kings played the AVS.

Holy ****, when was that?

Lots of debate back in the day on HFboards... whats crazy is some people on other teams agreed. I will be honest when Fro had the 35g season it was debatable. but that died off pretty quick

About the jerseys but the other thread closed:

Oh come on you guys hate our current jerseys that badly? I like these jerseys more obviously, but we aren't every ****ing team that just reverts back to their old uniforms. I think our home and away uniforms are sharp!

I love the current jerseys. I do like the Forum Blue ones more though. But, it's not that big of a difference to make me care.

I do like the throwbacks with all that nice dark purple, but I wouldn't want to actually go back to the old colors.
The dark purple looks nice but we'd have to wear yellow (sorry, "gold") while away, and those giant swaths of yellow look ugly IMO.

I actually like the jerseys from before the "Back in Black" change the best:

I thought Black, Silver, and Purple was the coolest color scheme in the league.
Plus, purple is the color of royalty, after all

While I don't hate the current jerseys, I find the black and white scheme really quite boring and uninspired.
Get rid of most of the white, put the silver and purple back in.

Sooooo....what did the Jackets fans over on their board have to say about Carter scoring again today? Might have to head over to read the insightful comments.

I doubt they care, they're happy with the trade regardless. They didn't like Carter because he didn't like being there.
They like Jack because he has played well and, more importantly, been a team leader who plays a ton of minutes.

Just have to wonder if it is something to do with CCM having the rights to "vintage jerseys." But I am one of those that if I buy a jersey I want an authentic one. I know I saw during the lockout that some of the reporters were talking about the kings vintage jerseys at the NHL store. But no idea if they were the CCM or rbk. And if you check NHL.com they don't even have the CCM ones for the Kings.

the first year of the Legends jerseys were used I know team la carried them. BUT, they were CCM versions and not the authentic reebok edge versions. different fabric, slightly different color, different cut to the jersey. from what i was told they only had them that first year.

I got a high quality vintage Doughty jersey on eBay (numbers stitched on, NOT ironed, thick jersey material and not the cheap ****) and it was ****ing dirt cheap too. Even has the authentic fight straps. Was the one with the name on it though. We only wore those once last year? Or two years ago. Was the first time we started wearing them again and the first game had names and after that, was numbers only. Wish I could remember the seller because they did an awesome job at a cheap price with authentic jerseys (tags and all).

better quality, but a counterfeit. personally i dont care for them, ever. in the case of these though i dont care. if reebok, the nhl and the league are dumb enough to not offer them for sale - then F them. there is very high demand for the jersey and if they won't offer them, then someone will fill the void.

But who made the jersey? if it was rbk then checking the numbers would show if it was an edge or premier. Also how it was sold was it numbers for the size or s-xxl? On ebay there are many sellers that sell premier jerseys that add the fight strap to try and make them look like edge. And no authentic edge jersey, the ones worn on ice, come in s-xxl they are all numbered.

adding a fight strap doesn't make it an edge. the materials are different, some of the internal piping and other labels are also different. i laugh every time i look at a jersey listing and they make a big deal out of the fight strap. now i look at these listings as a red flag, because serious collectors with real jerseys will focus on other more important details than the strap.

I have found some plain jerseys being sold out there in bulk but they are not the real think and I suspect many on ebay are these jerseys.

these days i wouldn't spend the money on any jersey from ebay, unless you are comfortable knowing it's highly likely its a fake. there are numerous sellers that "remanufacture" jerseys with incorrect letters, numbers, fonts, nameplates, etc. they know they can operate relatively freely with little chance of problems on ebay. unless you know exactly what to look for then your wasting your money.

It's a RBK and came in a numbered size. From what I remember, the seller gets blank jerseys and sews the name and number on themselves.

this is the "remanufacture" process, that is essentially a cottage industry. some of the sellers do very good work and will actually produce a more authentic jersey, than what reebok pumps out with the replicas. the reebok replicas are **** imo, compared to the older manufacturers. bad enough they finally this year shifted manufacture back to canada. they were producing a lot of them in Indonesia the past few years and the Indo-Edges are notorious for being very shoddy.

the first use of the Legends jersey was in VAN and they didn't have nameplates. since then they have had nameplates on them.

i love the throwbacks. the colors just pop on the ice and tv. it's the Kings heritage and someday they will wake up and go back (i hope). personally i am waiting for my '85 home Simmer replica to come back completed.

I don't think it would be too hard to make a white version of the throwbacks.

Those jerseys today rocked...and someone upstairs likes them too..

Word on the street is that these forum blue and gold classics could be the #LAKings official third jerseys next season.

Anyways, nice game. :) Now let's do it versus top competition! Duck the ****s!

No, we're every ****ing team that changes to some lame combination of black and silver/white.

Purple all the way!!!! Bring them back full time!!!!

You obviously didn't see their comments from the Oilers & Flames games.

The thing is, players like the black uni's, that's why you see so many teams do it.They do have input on what they wear. It's the fans who like the colorful one, plain and simple.

The current black uniforms became so popular after they introduced it as a third jersey that the team adopted it as their official away uniforms. It started unofficially during the 2010 playoffs as the players preferred the black jerseys.

I think we'll be seeing the current black/white kits for quite some time. I'm kind of tired of seeing them switch up jerseys so often. They went from the purple/silver shields which were introduced in 1998 to the crowns in 2003, then they switched to the Edge uniforms which sucked, and got rid of the purple/silver altogether not too long ago.

While I really do like the purple sweaters, the one thing you have to consider is how silly they'd look in the yellow getup. They would look like bananas out there if they adopted those colors again. I'm fine seeing the purples used more frequently at home, say 10-12 games a season.

God I hope so!!!

Some of the Sutter quotes on kings insider are awesome.

Darryl Sutter:

“We played really well in Detroit. People sounded and looked at me kind of funny, but I thought we played really well there. It’s not always whether you win or lose. It’s whether you’re winning or losing.â€

That's a great quote right there.

He certainly had the talent to be better than Zetterberg and that 35g season went to his head and he let up on the gas pedal, so to speak.

The thing is the players work for us. Who cares what they want to wear? There is something to be said for tradition and wearing a color scheme that actually reflects the name of the team.

Slava (Viacheslav) Voynov played in his 70th NHL game today.

He has amassed 10 goals, 17 assists for 27 points and is a plus 22.

If he had started this season he would clearly be the calder favorite by far.

If he had played all of last season I think he would have done the same.

What a great young player.
