Torts is irate.

He sounds as baffled as all of us and is saying the same things we've all been saying.

"We find ways to lose"

He was working hard to keep a lid on his anger. Things are going to change one way or another. Dubi and Jenner echoing Torts sentiment. Clearly the leaders in the room.

I won't say he's untouchable (though to me he is), but it would take a special set of circumstances to see him moved. And I don't really see him being moved for help on the back end.

Who replaces him as 1C?
Is Johansen even the #1C right now? He's paid like one, but he sure as hell isn't playing like it.

Dubai and Boone are leading with their play
Foligno, not so much, but I am only "grasping at straws"

Nick has done a nice job winning ceremonial face offs this year but isn't Torts calling him out now?

And for that reason , I would trade foligno, and have torts determine the captain . Right now the choice of foligno looks like an absolute joke . Foligno will never have another season like last year , and him and ryjo have been invisible . 1 goal each .... Meanwhile Boone is busting his ass every night , as is dubi. See what defensive upgrade we can aquire for Nick

The defense hung Bob out to dry on three of their 4 goals. Bob's got to be better, but the defense, including wunderkid Ryan Murray, are at times not even mediocre.

Agree with Torts. The time for moral victories is over. That was a game we deserved to win and pissed it away.

And Foligno's goal was lucky as well. It took a wierd bounce off the glass and everyone was looking at the corner but Foligno found the puck when he was beside the net and tucked it in.

I'll never understand why people blame the best players for losses, especially when they didn't play bad. I guess I understand it, but I don't agree with it. I thought Joey and foligno had good games. You can have good games without scoring. Obviously foligno has to bury that shot, and we probably win if he does (IMO) and it's no excuse to miss, and obviously they're struggling with their goal totals. Doesn't mean you trade them. Especially someone as irreplaceable as Johansen. Could he bring in a bunch of good players? Sure, but the second you deal him you look to replace what he brings. Makes no sense.

You make some good points but not sure we should be looking to make a deal now. Also I'm sure I don't want Jarmo making that deal. Our best GM was the guy that advised GMSH. One guy I'd explore moving is Murray, Even with his small sample size count me as unimpressed.

And I get that, and agree with it. But its not like Joey and Foligno are just skating around doing nothing. They had tons of chances tonight. Foligno should have had one. They had (what seemed like) alot of shots and chances. At some point they will break through.

I will say though, I forget which goal it was (either their 3rd or 4th) Foligno missed Johansen on a pass in front of the Vancouver net, and it started their breakout and eventually they scored. Foligno shouldn't miss that pass. Joey was open.

Who are you going to get to take on that salary? $5.5 mil for the next 4 3/4 years for a guy thats on pace to score 4-5 goals this year.

I think Nick won't top his point total from last year, but he is better than he has been. It's not from lack of effort, but he just isn't making the pass to lead to the chance like he did last year. He certainly isn't putting himself in positions to score as much this year and his powerplay time is almost non-existent now.

I thought the team played very well offensively. Atkinson was making things happen. Jenner...obviously. Johansen and Foligno are close. Folgino bad luck on the post and Johansen was showing the ability to control the puck while pressured that I hadn't seen him do as well recently.

Defensively, as everyone has pointed out, the team just was pitiful in the 4 breakdowns which led to goals against. From my vantage point up in the 200s tonite, the Jackets were lucky that there weren't a ton of 2 on 1s against. Vancouver was within an eyelash of having 3 or 4 by my count. I listened to the pregame radio show on the way to the game and Torts talked about needing the dmen step up and take chances offensively. It would be nice if he made sure that forwards were aware of his wishes:laugh:

Murray played pylon vs. Brandon Sutter. I'm sorry to say that I don't think that Jack Johnston is a top pairing guy on a playoff team. Just too many mistakes. He's been in the league for 10 years. He's not going to get any better.

The season is over. To get to 95 points, the Jackets have to play 65.9% hockey. Not going to happen. I'm glad that I genuinely like the game, because if were all about winning for me, then there would be no reason to watch these guys from this point on. There will be no playoffs for the 2015-16 Jackets. The coaching change needed to fire immediately given the 0-7 record and it didn't. The Jackets are 4-5 since the change, so the problem obviously ran deeper than Todd Richards. I think Torts will be fine, but the hole he had to dig this team out of was too deep for this season.

We'll get 'em next year.:)

It's November. I don't care what the stats say, nobody is out of it in November.

Jackets go on a 6 game winning streak (Which isn't outrageous.) Bam, right back in it. It's a steep climb, but its not impossible.

I appreciate your optimism but I can't see us going on a 6 game winning streak this season. RyJo hasn't had any dangerous scoring chances, I was correct to call him out earlier in the season-hate that I was right about him, Foligno is playing like the third line grinder he always was until last year. And the defense....I just can't fathom how we are the worst team in the NHL and haven't called anyone up from Cleveland to actually play. This one stung me bad, I actually thought we looked slow the whole game, heavy legs from trying to get in shape in practice maybe? I don't have any answers...this is depressing as ****. It's been 219 days since the last W on home ice.

OK, so we go on a 6 game winning streak, then what? law of averages says we will then lose a couple in a row after that. win streaks are nice, but it's impossible to keep up that pace over a long enough time to have an impact on the overall record. Also, don't forget we have to climb over 3 teams in the Metro. This team is done.
