Damn! I was looking forward to watch him play
I would have been also if he had played, but i've since found out I wouldn't be able to anyway because TSN for some bizarre reason no one can fathom is not showing the game on tsn1, which is the only tsn channel I have.

Yeah he didnt play against Kazachstan and I heard from William Bonney in the U.S team thread that he is out for tonight too and Bonney is the guy to listen to when you want the true goods on the U.S team.

I don't think the type of injury is confirmed but I have heard rumours saying it's his shoulder.

Shoulder injuries are not good news, they tend to reoccur over and over again for guys that sustain injuries to them. Hopefully it’s just bruising and nothing serious.

Auston Matthews with the shoulder issues as well o_O and these two are compared often.

Yeah, they are not good news at all. Like you said, hopefully it's nothing serious and just needs a little time to get back AOK. he's just getting going in his career so you don't want to see serious stuff happening.

On a selfish note I was also looking forward to the challenge of playing the U.S and meeting his skills head on, I live for that stuff.

Yeah they are though I think the only reason they are compared to each other is because they are both American, they really play two very different games.

Both centers, both potential first picks, both from that USDP or what do you call it, both have (had) a Finnish contender for the first pick, shoulders, but I guess ur right about the play style comparison there.

Yeah, all that other stuff you mention here they line up as comparables but playing style..................no.

Sweden lacks top talent up front and the D is scrambled with the top 3 D-men injured, so I can't say US can pity themselves too much about Hughes. I mean, he's a top pick and a very intriguing player, but three top D gone is, I would say, also a significant blow to a team where that position is the best part. Or is that fine, because there are loads of D to cover up, I don't know? Sweden has created top quality D for a long time, for some reason. Solid goalies, world class D and fluctuating offense, but they always work hard, execute the basics very well all over the rink and are disciplined.

That starting time... impossible to watch live, as usual. US should win, Sweden has an unusually weak roster, most stars already play in the NHL and a lot of untimely injuries. But Sweden can always surprise with their team spirit.
considering i will be at the game, its more then possible
