i like Panarin with Zibanejad fine but not also with Kakko. Panarin and Kakko need to be driving play on two different lines. you could put literally anyone else on the RW with Panarin and Zibanejad and the line would be good.
We'll see. Gallants seems adamant Kakko has to be a net presence and shooter. We'll see if the balance is there on that line. The risk, as people keep saying, is that Kakko ends up passive in front of the net with nothing to work with, wrestling with a D-man.

Just what are the lines tonight, based on practices, etc.? I've been too busy with work to check.

Panarin - Zib - Kakko
Laf - Trochek - Vesey
Kreider - Chytil - Kravtsov

I disagree with the consensus and think Kakko can work with Panarin (and Zbad), Kakko had progressed enough where he won't just defer and head to the crease to bang around, he knows what works for him. He gets CK and Zbad the puck plenty often, they just fumble and bumble it away. Panarin won't. I'd actually like to see the kid line again though, to balance out our high end skill players more so the opposition can't match up against our top line so easily. Home games shouldn't be as much of a problem though.

Wait, the teams lost AFTER he left and HE'S the loser? How about let a team give him a reasonable amount of time to see what he is?
Point I was making flew right over your head, but I'm far from surprised at that. None of the teams he left benefitted from anything he did with them, ie, he didn't leave them with anything to build on.

We know what he is. He's a coach the guys love to play for because he doesn't push them, and he's a piss poor tactician who is routinely outcoached by smarter guys. That's been Gallant for his entire career. Nothing he's done lately has suggested that has changed. If the Rangers win the cup anytime soon, it won't be with him behind the bench. Technically, he's only got a year left anyway before he gets fired anyway.

thanks. That third line should be interesting on paper at least. Who the heck knows if Kravy can play at this intensity and if Kreider decides to wake up. If the Zibby line doesn't look good just flip Laf and Panarin.

Isles score first, they win. Rangers score first, they have a shot.
Building off of this, since the 19-20 season, the Islanders are 10-2 when scoring first against the Rangers, and they have not lost a game against the Rangers when scoring first since that 19-20 season, going a perfect 9-0 since 20-21 season. Rangers are a perfect 5-0 when scoring first in that time period.

The 1st goal tonight decides the game.

Poor Goat. Finally playing decent enough not to be shit on and he gets injured. Hopefully it he comes back quickly and doesn’t set him back.

Was it the Chiarot hit?

So many times last season I think we all found ourselves saying "I dunno how we won that game, but we did." We aren't doing that so far this season.

This game is going one of two ways: Either we're going to utterly steamroll the Isles, or they're going to utterly steamroll us. I'd be really shocked if it ends up somewhere in the middle.

Let's hope the boys come out with some fire in their bellies.

Thanks for the personal insult. My point is that it’s impossible to know what his teams would do because he’s never been given the chance. But then you’ve already made up your mind. Was that clear enough for you to understand?

I'd like to see Gaut on the 3rd line. Kreider-Chytil-Gauthier has the potential to be a forechecking nightmare for opposing teams. All big, strong and fast.
