First goal is so important tonight. Isles D is so stingy once they have a lead. Lets gooooo Boys!
They were losing 1-0 and 3-1 last night and came back to win soooooo

and we've had big problems against good aggressive PK teams this year which seems to be the only way we break 2 goals in a game, and the Isles have an excellent PK

Really with the way the team has been playing I think it's just a matter of confidence when it comes to putting the puck into the net and converting on big chances. There have been just so many posts/missed shots/lolypop wristers on high danger scoring opportunities so far, especially from the defensemen.

Out 5 on 5 shooting percentage is bottom 4 in the league. Our overall S% is second to last. All this while being top 5 in shots.

More than anything the team is playing fine, albeit we are giving up a few too many odd man rushes and the transition game needs work. But the area where we really stand out as struggling is finishing plays.

More than happy to play my own game(s) tonight rather than watch whatever we want to call these “hockey games” against the Islanders.

At least playing against the Jacques Lemaire Devils came with the advantage of it being the 1990s. Plenty of other awesome stuff to do. 2022 plus the Islanders though, yeesh.

Since the kids are not gonna get meaningful pp time. Play the top 3 lines similar amount of ES time. Or of course play the line that is clicking the best the most.
Lafreniere-Chytil-Kakko
Kreider-Zibby- who cares
Panarin-Trocheck- who cares
Blais-Goodrow-God help us.

Yes, put the kid line back together with real minutes. Laff is not comfortable being on his off wing.

Putting Bread and Zib together for tonight is a disaster waiting to happen. I hope im proven wrong but I can already picture what’s going to happen in the offensive zone.
Clogged shooting lanes
Lots of blocked shots
lots of perimeter carrying of the puck
Holding the puck for too long
Passes hitting skates ( both Isles skates and teammates)
FRUSTRATION
This will probably happen in one shift.

7-4-3 looks respectable amid current conditions in the league table, and we need to keep pace in the division.

Don't understand it either especially against a team like the Islanders. Just put Panarin back with Trocheck

I updated the lines. Vince has Trocheck as the 3rd line, NHL has Trocheck as the 2nd line . At this point don’t think it matters they are like two 3rd lines at this point that need to produce.

Guess you can call those line the ones that need to perform lines. I dunno.

Top line is stacked with players who I think have had a good season so far with little to no struggles.
I think Vince has it wrong. Kreider being demoted makes more sense than Trocheck. Regardless LETS GO RANGERS !

i like Panarin with Zibanejad fine but not also with Kakko. Panarin and Kakko need to be driving play on two different lines. you could put literally anyone else on the RW with Panarin and Zibanejad and the line would be good.

If the Kid line is the best line, management and the coaches need to get the rest of the lineup to work properly. And that's a LOT of millions in players.

Gallant said it out right: The vets are coasting. Glad he called them out on it. Imo it's pretty easy to tell/suspect they are saving themselves for April and the post season. Looks like the Avs and some other teams are in the same situation.

He made sure that serious contention was nullified with his personnel decisions though. Yes, he should be blamed for not getting the best out of his players, but let's not pretend that he turned Kreider, Panarin or Zib into what they are - they were already those players. Now, however, with the exception of Panarin, they are all regressing. This team responds the way it does because he allows them to.

You keep saying "multiple teams on extended playoffs runs." It's two teams and two runs and that's it - his first year with Vegas and his first year with us. Everything else is one and done and the teams got worse after the first year. Never made the playoffs with CBJ. One playoff make with Florida and lost in round 1. Lost round 1 his second year with Vegas and then was fired the next season. That is his track record. That is not a track record of success, that is barely a record of mediocrity. Right now, this team is already on a worse start than last year, and not recognizing that the major factor here is Igor's play would be incredibly disingenuous. This team seems to be following his past track record to a T.

This is not emotions. This is facts. He is a loser. The faster he is fired the better for this franchise.

I'm sure Gorton and JD thought they were safe too. Is Dolan going to be happy with a step back this season?
Wait, the teams lost AFTER he left and HE'S the loser? How about let a team give him a reasonable amount of time to see what he is?
