Frustrating game to be at, until the end :D

If we can just keep stringing these together... man oh man.

Not sure how Porty can tweet that was close

maybe good foot offside with great camera angle

They didn't show the replay in the arena until they overturned the call.. needless to say for us that were there, we were shocked.... and stoked - LOL!

Doesn't matter. Offsides should not be reviewable at all. You can't rewind the game like that over something so insignificant to the "hockey play". The purpose of offsides is to keep them from cherrypicking. They didn't. So there's nothing worth reviewing.

Can we just be happy it went our way? Sheesh...

Is Ryan Murray afraid to shoot? I know he has missed some time due to injuries but he only has 5 SOG for the whole season.

Problem tonight was he couldn't get it on net, kept missing and missing baaaad.

Great team win tonight. The mentality of this group is a complete 180 from where they were 365 days ago. Werenski is an amazing player no doubt but to come from behind as a team and win a game like this is absolutely huge. That penalty kill at the end of the 3rd had me out of my seat. Great work boys, and good on Dan Singleton for helping us get 2 points!

Great resiliency tonight. The first two periods were quite the stinker, but they really turned up the intensity in the third period.

Zach Werenski will be the greatest player to ever wear a Blue Jackets jersey. Mark my words. He dominated the third period and took over that game.

What's up with Murray though? His play is concerning. He seems to have regressed a bit from his step forward last year. I think it would be wise to shop him around and see if we could net a young C to create a formidable 1-2-3 punch of Wenns-XXX-Dubi, or another young D (Trouba?).

It's on facebook(Blue Jackets page) and on Rob Mixer's twitter page(I don't know how to link videos from twitter) but they gave the Kepi hat to the video coach tonight.

Also, I thought Werenski's goal was him just taking a wrist shot and just finding the net but on the replay, it was aimed in the top corner. It was a thing of beauty.

entering with the puck didn't affect everything that happened after it?

Look, I don't like the replay rule for offsides either, but pretending offsides shouldn't matter is entirely wrong.

Now, if they replayed an offside from a few possessions prior, I'd agree with you. As it is, entering the zone is key to any possession. If the rule were properly enforced there would have been no entry to begin with.

If they're to keep this review process, I'd like to see them limited to judging the play at full speed, since the game does not happen in slow motion. They'd never do that, but that's what I think about reviews of things like offsides or, in football, catches.

I think your last paragraph is a good idea.

I disagree with the first to the first to the extent many times the challenge is issued a minute or more after the "violation". By that time no one can convince me the offsides had anything to do with it.

The coach said this in his post-game comments. Also said they were initially looking for goalie interference and just went back further in the tape and Singleton caught in, almost by accident.

Interesting.... you'd think if someone's job was to review the video during the games, they'd check that type of thing for every goal against.

If I was to study this post and discuss it before I actually wrote on it, I would never think it was possible. It would be the opposite.

Dan Singleton should get a raise :) Great catch by him on the off-sides.

His job is to watch hockey.........think about that. How much of a raise do you need if your job is what most of us pay money to do?

In all seriousness, great catch by Singleton, and it probably was worth 2 big points in the standings.

It could be also a position for a tactical analyst who relays the message to the bench as the Leading One has suggested.

Leading One for example could have changed the tide of recent HPK-HIFK game only after 3 or 5 minutes of play, as a grand stand coach, offering the head coach the option for a change. What did Leading One whisper then to Tapio Suominen's ear?

"HPK is in trouble because for some reason Pennanen has decided in his game plan to attack control starts from the height of their own p-point level."

Therefore HPK's defenders had to play in really crowded space, opposite to HIFK's vertex forecheckers which was shown in countless amounts of mispasses which resulted in lost pucks.

Leading One would have opted for traditional lag zone delayed starts because opening the game was not working in such a small space.

Personally, i dont get the Murray disdain, the guy isnt an offensive player, he takes care of himself in his own zone and is a solid number 2 dman playing as a 3 when jones is back, the perfect role for him to have less pressure on him.

Considering that my best party trick is my prodigious memory, your suspicion is probably correct.

I don't have any disdain, but I would at least like him to get back to the level he was at in the last half of last year. There is something weighing on him. He was skating wonderfully in the World Cup and he's slowed way down.

I'm nervous that he's got a little injury slowing him down.

While I think Murray was that last year, for some reason he hasn't played like it this year. So far this year I think he has been #4 behind our top pair and Johnson. I say that with no axe to grind over Murray - rather just my take on the on ice play. As to the thread's trade discussion, I'm not anxious to trade him; but if the desire were to trade D for O, Murray is the most valuable and somewhat expendable and valuable trade chip.

please don't **** with the team right now. Just enjoy the show. Murray is going to be fine, the kid ( I repeat kid) is what 21 years old? He is going to be a monster at points this year - and for years to come.

I really can't wait to get Seth Jones back.. Popeye's son has a swagga - we have really good team chemistry right now. Skating is good, passing at times is very good, defense is good.. it is all in balance right now. Add Jones back in and make some noise

Dubi 14 - 5 on Draws - winning performance right there

We'd all like to see more, but Murray is a solid second pairing d right now. He's cheap right now too.

They finally have a solid D lineup. Until a youngster emerges to push Murray from the top 4, I'd rather stay with what we have and hope PLD develops properly with respect to our desire for another top 6 center.
