Some of us are not new at hockey……..but fill your boots if you’re watching this Oilers team and you’re thinking “Cup Contender”.

Yep, it’s a playoff team but more so middle of the pack, tough to watch any of the games this year and think “boy these guys are cup contenders”. Obviously things can change with some moves but this looks like an old, slow, butter soft team.

We don't drive the middle of the ice or create offense from the middle unless it's a dazzling mcd play. We have been like this for years. Perimeter petes that try and pass the puck in the net and can't shoot/score from a distance or the middle

That’s what happens when a team relies on wrist shots from distance and no one near the crease. Team is to used to practicing against Skinner

All issues are a concern, but I think it's probably also dawning on people that we have essentially no real starter. Just two guys who are back ups.

its unfair to always keep waiting for McDrai to carry us from mediocrity to the playoffs every year. They also arent getting younger. at some point in thier careers these guys will be worn out. We have no legitimate young depth.
